The Olympus College Showcase was a prime example of that as numerous prospects had strong showings, especially in the 2022 class. Here are the top 2022 prospects to watch from the Olympus College Showcase.
Carlos Lopez Carlos Lopez 6'0" | PG Egg Harbor Twp | 2023 FL , 6’1 PG Egg Harbor
Lopez was dynamic throughout the showcase as he was one of the toughest covers throughout the night. The 6’1 lefty was very shifty with the ball in his hands and was able to consistently get to the rim. Lopez was able to free himself for jumpers off the dribble and knocked down several perimeter jumpers. He ran the offense very well and made plays on the defensive end. Lopez is a quick lead guard who should have a strong junior campaign for Egg Harbor.
Sean Logan Sean Logan 6'10" | PF Westfield | 2022 State NJ , 6’9 PF Westfield
Logan was the tallest player at the event, but his height was not the only thing that stood out. The lanky 6’9 forward showed off his range as he knocked down a couple perimeter jumpers and shot the ball with confidence. Logan used his length to impact shots around the basket and snagged rebounds on both ends of the floor. He was able to get open down low and drew contact around rim. Logan’s combination of size, length and skill makes him a prospect to watch in Union County.
Braxton Jones Braxton Jones 6'0" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2022 State NJ , 5’11 PG Trenton Catholic
Jones had a strong all-around showing at the showcase. The 5’11 guard showed off his toughness as he got hurt during one of the games, but was able to bounce back to play in the final game of the day. Jones has a good handle and was able to break down his defender off the bounce to finish around the basket. He shot the ball with confidence and was able to free himself up off the dribble. Jones is a tough lead guard prospect who should have a big year for Trenton Catholic.
Andrew Stack Andrew Stack 6'2" | SG Madison | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 SG Madison
Stack may have had one of the longest drives to get to the showcase, but that did not stop him from having a good showing. The 6’2 guard showed his ability to handle the ball on the perimeter and made several nice passes throughout the session. Stack shot the ball with confidence on the perimeter, but was also able to get to the basket. He fought for rebounds on both ends and played solid on-ball defense. Stack’s showing at the showcase proves that he is in store for a big junior campaign for Madison.
Dwight Matthews, 6’4 SG/SF Shawnee
Matthews played well throughout the showcase as he was dialed in from the beginning. The 6’4 wing has a good handle and was able to get to the basket. Matthews used his strong frame to finish through contact and showed off his good shooting form. He made plays with the ball in his hands and ripped down rebounds on both ends. Matthews is a physical wing prospect who should have a good season for Shawnee.
