D1 New Mexico
The largest Grassroots organization in New Mexico and the country is New Mexico D1. Ran by president Malik Waters. D1 has a great reputation in the Grassroots community and is nationally well known. They are the only Under Armour Rise Circuit Team in New Mexico. They are also the only New Mexico based program to be on our Prep Hoops Circuit. In fact, last year D1 New Mexico ranked second in the Hustle region. They have 36 teams in New Mexico and are located in 11 states stretching as far as New Jersey. Last year D1 New Mexico had 9 college commits. D1 New Mexico’s program starts in the 4th grade all the way to their 15, 16 and 17u high school elite teams. They provide New Mexico basketball players a legit chance to get recruited.
Flight Force Athletics
This is a great program for kids with 11 local teams and 3 travel teams ranging from 12u-15u throughout the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Flight Force is ran by Paul (PJ) Espinoza. I interviewed PJ and really learned a lot about his program. PJ hasn’t forgot what AAU is about with his kids. He likes to recruit multiple sport athletes and give kids the chance to learn the game of basketball. PJ also has a football program for his kids were he gets to showcase those multiple sport athletes. PJ’ s primary goal is to teach kids sports and get them exposure.
New Mexico Havoc
The New Mexico Basketball Club is a youth basketball organization based out of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo, and is ran by president Jason Baca. A terrific basketball family that is teaching kids the fundamentals of basketball at a low cost. Currently New Mexico Havoc has local boys and girls teams. The boys teams start in the 4th grade through 8th grade. They follow the same pattern with their girls. Havoc hosts a multitude of events in the Albuquerque / Bernalillo area which are all fundraisers to help their families.
JB White Elite
JB White Elite is a brand new program in New Mexico. Named after a New Mexico rising star Fedonta JB White who was brutally murdered in Santa Fe New Mexico. They are a combination of the New Mexico Dogs and New Mexico Force. The team is ran by Brandon Mason, Chris Parra Chris Parra 6'0" | PG Atrisco Heritage | 2023 State NM Sr and Ross Romero. All three have experience in coaching high school basketball. JB White Elite is looking to make a name for themselves in the Grassroots community.
