Here are the six centers who cracked the Kansas 2022 Player Rankings:
37 Keaton Williams Keaton Williams 6'8" | C Wichita Southeast | 2022 State KS , Kapaun:
The 6-foot-8 Williams will be a towering presence for Kapaun this year. He showed this summer how well he moves and how disruptive he can be on defense. He is quick to move in the lane and thwart shots. He is an effective rebounder who can follow up misses. On offense he is willing to screen and help teammates, and he’s got great size on the block.
39 Jace Linenberger Jace Linenberger 6'7" | C Hays | 2022 State KS , Hays:
Linenberger was already an important performer for Hays last season. The 6-foot-7, long, agile big will play an even bigger role this season. He moves well and has good hands and good coordination. He works hard on the boards and can play a lot of roles on offense.
50 Noah Simmons Noah Simmons 6'8" | C Valley Center | 2022 State KS , Valley Center:
The 6-foot-7 Simmons is a physical presence. He is built and powerful and gets after it in the lane. He has some good moves in the lane and is a good target for passers in the post. He can shoot his jumper with some range.
54 Dalton Schrag Dalton Schrag 6'5" | PF Pretty Prairie | 2022 State KS , Pretty Prairie:
Schrag is a 6-foot-5 big who moves well around the offensive end and can hunt shots by moving without the ball. His combination of size and athleticism make him a tough player to guard. He is a smart player who works hard at both ends.
69 Noah Hastert Noah Hastert 6'6" | C Cair Paravel | 2022 State KS , Cair Paravel:
Hastert is a 6-foot-6 athlete who is having a huge season as a football receiver. He is smart and uses his size and athleticism well on the hard court. He runs well and has good coordination. His best trait is his strong fundamentals and willingness to play within the team concept. He has good moves around the goal and rebounds with agility and strength. He draws a lot of fouls and is excellent at the line.
83 Fred Criqui Fred Criqui 6'7" | C St. Marys | 2022 State KS , St. Marys:
Big and well built, Criqui has an impressive 6-foot-7 frame. He can do a lot with the ball, showing the willingness to shoot mid-range shots, put the ball on the floor, and move without the ball to get opportunities. He passes well and fits nicely within the St. Marys team concept.
