Weber High School
The Weber Warriors have some pieces that could really cause some problems for other teams. They’re in the “Sneaky Good” category because they always play second fiddle to teams like Davis, Layton and all of Region 4. While only a junior they will be lead by mature 6’0 PG Cannon Devries Cannon Devries 6'0" | PG Weber | 2022 State UT who will be able to control tempo. When teams look to press they always use angles to contain player sin the backcourt or force them to make bad passes. Cannon is a player that will be hard to contain in the backcourt because he is so fast and can bring the ball up with his vision up to look for open teammates. Pressing could be a problem because it can turn into a fast break going the other way really quick. 6’6 Quinn Bennet Quinn Bennet 6'6" | SF Weber | 2021 State UT t is also a nice piece that can help Weber matchup size wise with other teams. They are well coaches and have a lot of discipline that will not only keep them in games but they will also be put in positive situations.
West Jordan High School
11 of 12 first games scheduled are tough games but they should be able to compete. West Jordan plays with good pace and they seem to know when to push the tempo. They have a lot of players that can move without the ball and they know how to find some open pockets. Keep and eye on 6’3 CG Logan Prince Logan Prince 6'3" | CG West Jordan | 2022 State UT who had a solid year this past season. This year teams will key on him and it will be fun to see how he reacts and adjust. Logan has a quick shot and is an unselfish scorer. 6’5 Esafe Taufahema was solid last season as he has unlimited energy and he has a great motor that keeps this undersized team in games. Esafe goes after loose balls and almost every rebound. Not sure how many teams they can sneak up on but they will for sure compete every game.
Olympus High School
DO NOT be surprised if Olympus only loses 3 or so games. 6’4 G Ben Krystowiak Ben Krystowiak 6'4" | CG Brighton | 2021 State UT is playing really well and he has been efficient. This year could be a head turning year for him. He is playing with a lot of confidence and there is more chemistry on the roster. 6’6 Jack Wistrcill Jack Wistrcill 6'8" | PF Olympus | 2022 State UT is a nice piece to keep the floor spread which is what Olympus is good at. They might not be flashy but they will be good and they will be a tough out on any night.
Mountain View High School
Mountain view is a tough gritty group that has a few new pieces that can hoop. A very mature and physical lineup with size and athletic ability. They can play uptempo or in a halfcourt setting. There is no selfish players on the team and they share the basketball. Look out for Calvin Gustafson Calvin Gustafson 6'7" | PF Mountain View | 2021 State UT a transfer from Arizona who can play, he is strong and finds ways to score.
Murray High School
Murray has been the ultimate sleeper team that always gives teams fits. They play in a region that has been down but they sure know how to play up to their competition. They have a young roster with talent. Jaxon Workman can shoot the ball. Chudi Anosike Chudi Anosike 6'5" | CG Murray | 2023 State UT is good and has been playing with a higher motor as of late and he could really have a breakout year. The biggest piece for Murray will be 6’8 Bowen Davies Bowen Davies 6'8" | PF Murray | 2022 State UT who continues to develop. Murray a sneaky good.
