Player Breakdown: Jaden Hansen

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="919663" first="Jaden" last="Hansen"] is a 6’1" point guard from the class of 2021. Jaden is one of the key leaders for the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies and contributed a lot of points, assists, and minutes for the team. In the upcoming season, Hansen will look to lead the Grizzlies on their quest for a district title and a shot at the state championships in March. Continue reading for a breakdown of Jaden’s skills and abilities on both ends of the floor.</p> <p><strong>Defense:</strong> Jaden is a solid defender for the Grizzlies with lots of great attributes to his defensive game. He has long arms relative to his height and he constantly plays in the passing lanes. On ball, he likes to poke the ball away from ball handlers that cannot crossover effectively. He plays well in help side and contests every single shot, no matter who he is guarding. Against bigs, Hansen battles and uses his physicality to push them away from the block. Jaden has a high basketball IQ and always seems to be 1 or 2 plays ahead of what is actually happening around him on the court. He makes excellent defensive reads and plays with his head on a swivel at all times. As a rebounder, Jaden loves to attack the glass and constantly grabs boards on both ends of the floor.</p> <p><strong>Offense:</strong> Hansen is a great source of offensive spark for Rocky Mountain. Jaden likes to play most of his game in the paint and scores most effectively at the rim. He can finish with either hand at the rim in a variety of ways and loves to draw contact which allows him to get to the free throw line for easy points. He has a beautiful fade away from the key with lots of touch and around the rim he has exceptional footwork; utilizing pivots and jab fakes to create enough space for a shot. He doesn’t shoot from outside often, but when he does, he has a solid looking stroke that he shoots with confidence. Hansen is a gifted passer with the ability to create for his teammates. He loves to push the ball in transition and constantly makes the correct reads on a fast break.</p> <p><strong>Overall:</strong> Altogether, Jaden is an excellent basketball talent. On defense, he is a lockdown defender that can guard anyone on the floor. Offensively, he drives the Grizzlies and can create for himself and his teammates. Jaden would make a great point guard at the next level.</p>
