Wings and big guards dominated the camp, some players even bringing their name to national attention. This article starts a series of articles detailing 30+ campers from the most recent line up of future stars.
Miles White | 2024 |
White had one of the best handles in the camp. The freshman pushes the pace on the break, looking for others ahead but capable of finishing the break himself. His pet spin gets him free on driving lanes, and a nice stroke from the perimeter keeps the defense honest.
Bryson Wilson Bryson Wilson 6'5" | SF St Stephen’s And St Agnes | 2023 State VA | 2023 | Top 30
Wilson has all the tools to be a high caliber wing prospect. His athleticism helped him make splashes on offense. Developing a feel for running an offense.
Quintin Floyd | 2024 |
Floyd will enter his first varsity eligible season as a six-foot guard with a great jumper. If left open from the wing, that ball is going through the rim regardless of the impending closeout.
Dwayne Williams | 2024 |
Williams will bring a solid skill set to his high school team. The 6-2 freshman can operate as a combo guard bringing size and competent ball handler to the 1. As an off guard, he knocks down threes at a high volume and can score in the paint from the wing.
Jonathan Byrd | 2023 |
Byrd impressed with his ability to create offense when going downhill. A quick crossover usually gets him going and once he’s in the paint, he reads what the defense gives him to make the right play.
Dellquan Warren | 2024 | Top 30
Spire’s newest lead guard prospect is a quick, athletic guard that can get above the rim on the break. Speed and handle allow him to escape traps in the backcourt from bigger defenders. He’s a score-first guard that passes well once the defense breaks down.
Marcus Branker Jr. | 2023 | Top 60
Branker showed flashes of an offensive skill set suited for his combo guard size. In a heated exchange with another camper, he showed his shot-making off the dribble. On another possession, the sophomore attacked the closeout for a quick one-handed slam.
Amani Hansberry Amani Hansberry 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State #52 Nation MD | 2023 | Top 30
A well built physical 6-8 forward that can really run the court. A two-way force below the rim with light feet that fuel his work in the post.
Duane Thompson | 2023 |
The 6-5 wing knows how to contribute without the ball. He’s tough enough to guard fours while a reliable three point shot helps to space the floor. His game is built for the halfcourt, where his unselfish decision making and rebounding are more pronounced.
Raymond Watts Raymond Watts 6'4" | SG St. John's | 2023 State MD | 2023 | Top 60
Watts is a willing passer with good court vision that can create shots off the dribble. At 6-3 with long arms, the combo guard has the tools and shows the effort to be helpful on defense.
Virgil Hall | 2023 | Top 60
Hall brings rim protection to the court thanks to his 6-9 frame and long arms. He’s a fluid athlete that can run the floor, move well in the paint, and drove from the wing for a layup in one-on-one coverage. There wasn’t much production from outside the paint, but face up may be a part of his game thanks to confidence in his jumper and mobility.
