There were around 110-115 players who attended the event divided into 12 different teams.
Players were from Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Washington.
Each team played 3 full games and the games were very competitive.
Six of the underclassmen were new faces to the website.
2023
Carter Gittens Carter Gittens 6'5" | SF Sunrise Mountain | 2023 State AZ (Sunrise Mountain)
-An athletic wing forward with a stronger build/frame is a versatile defender and can score it from all 3 levels. He can pull-up from mid to the 3pt line and has impressive body control in traffic while finishing through contact inside.
Kota Benson Kota Benson 6'0" | PG Mesa | 2023 State AZ (Baboquivari)
-A pure PG with an elite feel for the game. He can drive and kick once he gets into the lane and advance passes well. He has a nice floater game and he keeps polishing up his perimeter shooting from mid to the 3.
Vincent Delano Vincent Delano 6'1" | CG Bella Vista Prep | 2023 State #292 Nation AZ (St. Mary’s)
-One of the top shooters in the class has a pure stroke off the catch. He keeps improving his shooting on the move with a nice pull-up and he gets high elevation. He works well off the pick and roll and it usually leads him to scoring it but also makes good reads with the ball.
Masaiah Binford Masaiah Binford 6'4" | SF Ascending Life Prep | 2023 State AZ (South Mountain)
-A long and active defender is a very fluid athlete. He is a rebound chaser and will block shots in his area. His motor and activity on defense make him attractive. His skill is slowly improving.
AJ Turner AJ Turner 5'11" | PG Skyline Prep | 2023 State AZ (Higley)
-AJ had one of the better performances of the local sophs. He can pull-up from mid to the 3 and is consistent off the catch. He has good body control to finish and played well off the pick and roll. He has real open speed and natural quickness with the ball.
Anthony-Lamar Wilcox Anthony-Lamar Wilcox 5'8" | PG Skyline Prep | 2024 AZ (Maricopa)
-Another soph who had an impressive outing. He is a straight shooter off catch or pull. He has speed in open court and is quick on D. What makes him different from other undersized guards is his ultra quick release to go along with his deep range. He can also drive and kicks to open shooters.
Lavon Domino Lavon Domino 6'0" | CG Cesar Chavez | 2023 CA-S (Apollo)
-A physical driver is tough getting in the lane. He uses his thicker build and tighter handle to get passed his defender and he absorbs contact and scores it. He also is a sneaky good passer and is tough on the ball defensively.
Newcomers:
Jordan Voorhees Jordan Voorhees 6'0" | PG SoAZ Volz | 2023 State AZ (Pusch Ridge) (Pictured)
-A quick ball handler has good speed and is active all game. He is a good passer and he shows a burst to get to the rim. He can euro his way with his tighter handle and use a spin move in the lane. He also showed off his toughness and IQ and took a charge.
King Turner King Turner 6'5" | PG North Canyon | 2023 State AZ (Apollo)
-One of the six newcomers has good length and moves fluidly around the court. He has a high arcing 3pt shot and uses his length and athleticism to rebound the ball and play defense. One of the three very good sophomore Hawks for Coach Marin.
Lucas Leslie Lucas Leslie 6'4" | SF Mohave Accerlated | 2023 State AZ (Mohave)
-A nice looking soph from four hours away. He has a stronger body with length and a decent handle. He can crossover and get to the basket and finish or use the floater. He rebounds well for a wing and is a sneaky good passer who shows a high IQ for the game to go along his toughness.
2024
Aeramiah Binford Aeramiah Binford 6'4" | SF Ascending Life | 2024 State AZ (South Mountain)
-The younger brother of Masaiah is a nice prospect as well. Like his bro, he is an active rebounder and defender. He moves fluidly with long arms and shows athleticism.
Eric Werner (Higley)
-New to the state just transferred in from Chicago like the other Higley HS new players. He is a downhill strong PG with a sturdy frame. He is very quick on the ball defensively and he has a quick shooting stroke from the perimeter.
Christian DeAguero PG 5’9 (Liberty)
-An undersized pure PG that is very crafty. He can shoot it from the the perimeter plus is a good passer. He hesitates to get the defender off balance then get into the lane or create an opportunity to shoot.
