of DeSmet on Wednesday. Keita made his announcement on his Twitter account last night. He chose Mizzou over a bevy of other schools such as Iowa, Iowa State, SLU, West Virginia and many others.
Keita is an athletic 225-pound forward who came to the St. Louis area from Mali three years ago to attend DeSmet. He is a high motor player who plays with a lot of activity at both ends of the floor. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker who loves to run the floor. During his sophomore year, he had 26 rebounds in a victory over Hazelwood Central in the championship game of the Parkway West Tournament.
As a junior at DeSmet, Keita averaged 8.0 points and 9.4 rebounds while shooting 51 percent from the field on a very talented and balanced Spartans’ team that finished with a 22-7 record.
Keita becomes the third player from the state of Missouri to give a commitment to the Tigers, joining Brazile and Springfield Kickapoo guard Anton Brookshire Anton Brookshire 6'2" | PG Kickapoo | 2021 State #146 Nation MO .
