Here were some of the senior standouts I viewed:
Tyrone Washington Tyrone Washington 6'4" | PG AZ Compass Prep | 2021 State #33 Nation AZ AZ Compass Prep (The Show 2021)
-I saw him play one game and that’s all he needed to make an imprint on the weekend. His skill is polished with deep range on his jumper and his pull-up is nearly impossible to defend. He sprays the ball around to feed his team and scores it when needed. He is one of the better rebounding guards in the class using his thicker frame. He is super competitive to want to win regardless of it is a showcase, AAU or HS/Prep game. His drive to get better each year has put him in the Top-50 status around the country.
Arthur Kaluma Arthur Kaluma 6'7" | PF Dream City Christian | 2021 State #38 Nation AZ Dream City Christian (The Show 2021)
-One of the strongest forwards in the class nationally. He is powerful with everything he does. His scoring comes easy to him from high-flying dunks to playing bully ball and even extending his range on his shot to the 3pt line. The more and more consistent he becomes as a jump shooter, the easier it will be in college to try and make the next jump to playing professionally. He can create his own shot and rebounds anything near him. His body, speed, strength and quickly improving skill makes him a national target.
Jayden Nunn Jayden Nunn 6'2" | PG Dream City Christian | 2021 State AZ Dream City Christian (Pictured) (The Show 2021)
-A transfer by way of Michigan is a pure PG who is extremely athletic. He loves using his bounce as he gets downhill and he can explode up to dunk the ball. He has a sturdy frame/good length to get inside and score through contact. The ball gets out of his hand so effortless as he is very unselfish and made many pinpoint passes in the two games as he sees plays developing quickly. He likes to pull-up from mid-range and he is a capable 3pt shooter. He is a gamer as he made two clutch FT’s down the stretch to win the game in the most competitive game of the event for 17U.
Carson Basham Carson Basham 6'10" | C AZ Compass Prep | 2021 State AZ Sunnyslope (The Show 2021)
-The Pepperdine commit was consistent in both games. He scored it with his back to the basket and used his length and height to gobble up rebounds. He can face-up from mid-range plus he has advanced post footwork to get it done. He may not be jumping out of the gym, but he can easily power up and throw it down. He is an outstanding passer and competitor.
Simon Wheeler Simon Wheeler 5'8" | PG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2022 State AZ Bella Vista Prep (The Show 2021)
-Another transfer from Michigan is a blur with the ball in his hand. He has a tight handle and the ball is a clearly on a string for him. He is one of the fastest guards in the state already and makes next level passes to teammates. He gets to the cup easily and finishes off floaters or runners and can control a game with his speed and pace. He is a good 3pt shooter and despite his stature, he is tough and fearless.
Jason Kimbrough Jr Jason Kimbrough Jr 6'1" | PG Bella Vista Prep | 2022 AZ Mountain Pointe (Firestorm 2021)
-A tough scoring PG has had a terrific summer. He has been very consistent each weekend. He found that happy medium of scorer and facilitator. He can hit the 3 and is a tough mid-range shooter off the dribble, which is now a true weapon. His floater game is next level and he is tough on the ball defensively. He can drive and kick it out to shooters and handles pressure well. He received his much deserved first offer from D2 MSU Denver.
Jamison Kay Jamison Kay 6'5" | SF Gila Ridge | 2021 State AZ Gila Ridge (Tucson Prospects 2021)
-A long and lean shooter who can handle the ball well. He impressed at my camp and carried his team during stretches this weekend, proving it was no fluke. He has great length and rebounds well in his area plus will block/contest shots near the rim and is a good passer like a point forward. His deep shooting separates him from many. He is confident with it and uses the pick and roll game to his advantage. He can rise up and shoot it while being contested with very little space needed to get it off.
