Continue ReadingThe 2020 Competitive Edge High School Fall League got under way at the at the beginning of September. Early on, the basketball action hasn’t always been eye pleasing — the majority of the players are still working the quarantine rust of their games and fitness levels have been an issue. However the competition has been intense, and thus the 5on5, varsity action out in King of Prussia has been a welcome event for prospects and hoops heads in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Below is a list of prospects who have impressed during the first three Saturdays of action in the Competitive Edge High School Fall League.
Evan D’Orazio – 6’0’’ / Senior / CB South / Point Guard: Thrust into the starting lineup in January 2020 because of injuries, this fall D’Orazio has looked more comfortable as the Titans floor general. He has shown the ability to knock down open threes and demonstrated excellent court vision. D’Orazio is one of the players who will have to step up for CB South in 2020-21 as they attempt to replace the production lost when standout Alex Dietz graduated (now playing at Moravian).
Justin Green Justin Green 6'5" | SF Pope John Paul II | 2021 State PA – 6’6” / Senior / Pope John Paul II / Wing: If you watched Green this summer while he was running with Pro Skills Philly or in the Check Rock Summer League (76ers Fieldhouse in Wilmington, DE), then you probably noticed that this 2nd team All-State player continues to improve his all-around game. Green remains an ace from deep (38% from three last winter), but this fall the wiry perimeter player has also shown he can score off the bounce. Additionally, he has done an excellent job of getting teammates involved.
Sean Kaiser – 5’11” / Senior / Downingtown West / Point Guard: Back in August, Kaiser posted an excellent showing at the Philly Pride Mixer, and the skilled lead guard has kept rolling right through September. The Whippets have been without super soph Dylan Blair (injured) and Kaiser has filled that scoring void by hitting 3-balls and creating his own shot off the dribble.
Lucas Orchard – 6’3’’ / Sophomore / Devon Prep / Wing: In late July and August, Orchard was a standout for East Coast Power 16U (PA) and that momentum has carried over to fall ball with Devon Prep. During early fall season action at Comp Edge, Orchard has scored at all 3 levels. His athleticism and enormous wingspan have also frustrated opponents.
Lewis Robinson Lewis Robinson 5'11" | CG Radnor | 2021 State PA – 5’11’’ / Senior / Radnor / Combo Guard: The ultra-quick combo guard continues to excel in transition and thanks to his ability to get out on the break, “Lew” has posted two 20 point games. Robinson’s jumper has shown continued improvement, but the blow by remains his weapon of choice. Robinson’s on-ball defense has been extremely pesky.
Tyler Seward Tyler Seward 6'2" | PG Archbishop Carroll | 2021 State PA – 6’2” / Junior / Archbishop Carroll / Combo Guard: The former Haverford School (PA) starter (10.3 ppg. in 2019-20) has hit the ground running with his new squad. Seward continues to play a physical style of ball that has enabled him to score at the tin. He has drained a number of mid-range jumpers as well. The Comp Edge Fall League could be his breakout run.
