While I was not able to be physically in attendance at the Nets on Fire facility, I caught most of the action via the BallerTV livestream and will go through a long list of top performers, sleepers and stock raisers from the camp. Below is my second set of standouts from the Cream of the Crop Top 50 game.
Jermaine Rogers II Jermaine Rogers II 6'1" | SG Ayala | 2022 CA-S , 2022, Ayala (CA) – The 6-foot-3 wing is one of those guys who is always in attack mode and thrives in the transition setting. Rogers has good speed, strength and cuts well off the ball to get into the paint where he can score through contact. The junior sports a balanced pull-up jumper with good elevation and release point.
Isaac Peralta Isaac Peralta 6'2" | PG JSerra | 2022 CA-S , 2022, JSerra (CA) – Peralta is a crafty playmaker both in the open court and half-court settings. The 6-foot-2 junior point guard had a couple of high scoring camp games prior to being named to the Top 50 Cream of the Crop game. Peralta did a nice job of pushing the pace and getting into the paint where he scores with a crafty layup package.
Yaqub Mir Yaqub Mir 6'3" | SG Granite Bay | 2023 State CA-N , 2023, Granite Bay (CA) – I really liked Mir’s approach throughout this event. The high energy two-way player makes things happen on both ends of the floor because of how hard he plays. Offensively, Mir can knock down the open catch-and-shoot three-pointer from multiple spots and ranges of the floor, but also has the ability to probe the lane off the bounce, draw defenders, and dish timely and accurate passes to teammates.
Terrance Ramirez Terrance Ramirez 6'0" | PG Grapevine | 2020 CA-S , 2022, Fairmont Prep (CA) – Ramirez has some dynamic scoring ability to his game. The quick and crafty lefty has good burst out of the triple threat and impressive open court speed, both of which allow him to get by his primary defender and into the paint to put pressure on the rim. Ramirez has consistent pull-up shooting ability off the bounce from mid and three-point ranges.
Maurice Wright Maurice Wright 6'2" | CG Santa Clarita Christian | 2023 State CA-S , 2023, Santa Clarita Christian (CA) – Wright had a strong freshman campaign at Paraclete before making the move to SCCS. It’s clear what the Cardinals get in their latest transfer addition and it’s a guy who impacts the game on both ends of the floor due to his great energy. Wright is a strong slasher and finisher offensively who applies great perimeter ball pressure on the defensive end.
