Through live streams and live events, we at Prep Hoops were able to provide coverage to the 2021-2024 classes. Today I am highlighting my 16U All-Summer team with several D1 prospects leading the charge.
Sean Jones Sean Jones 5'10" | PG Gahanna | 2022 State #102 Nation OH (Gahanna Lincoln/All Ohio Red)- It can be argued Jones was the best prospect the entire summer in the state of Ohio. Seeing him in the 270 Hoops Challenge and during the Nike Scrimmages in Lorain, Jones showed why he has become a target to HMs looking for an athletic point guard. Has unbelievable speed and explosiveness when penetrating. Shown he can score from multiple levels and also distribute the basketball. Defends the perimeter and shown he can lock down opposing guards. Holds offers from Kansas State, Pittsburgh, and Mississippi State at the HM level.
Aboubacar Cisse Aboubacar Cisse 6'5" | SF Western Hills | 2022 State OH (Western Hills/C2K Elite)- Cisse is one of the more gifted scorers in the 2022 class. High motor wing with great length that covers the entire floor with his hustle. Showed an ability to consistently score from multiple levels, especially in the paint. When attacking from the wing, finds the paint. Exceptional rebounder with his length and bounce. Currently does not hold offers, but could be a steal for a LM program.
Kebba Njie Kebba Njie 6'8" | PF La Lumiere | 2022 State #152 Nation IN (La Lumiere/Indy Heat)- If you are looking for a true interior threat on both ends of the floor, check out Kebba this Fall/Winter. The 6’9 PF was impressive to me while running with Indy Heat at the Brawl for the Ball event via livestream. Njie was able to collect rebounds in traffic on the offensive end and obviously finish opposing possessions on the defensive glass. Follows the ball and uses his size to create 2nd chance opportunities for himself. His ability to stretch out and play on the perimeter makes him an even more impressive prospect. Announced Tuesday he was transferring to La Lumiere in Indiana this upcoming season.
Javan Simmons Javan Simmons 6'7" | C Gahanna | 2022 State OH (Gahanna Lincoln/Nova Village-Reese)- I liked what I saw in Simmons near the end of his sophomore year at Gahanna, but I was even more impressed as he continued to grow during the AAU season. The 6’6 PF/C has always been a nice scorer around the rim, but I was especially impressed with his ability to advance his game onto the perimeter. Played well in pick-and-roll situations and again demonstrated his strong finishing capabilities. No offers currently but definitely a D2 target for sure.
Jared Frey Jared Frey 6'5" | SG ISA | 2022 State OH (Hilliard Davidson/All Ohio Red)- The 6’5 SG found success with All Ohio Red, but more importantly, with the 270 Hoops 2022 Challenge. Frey has a nice offensive game with his perimeter shooting being his go-to offensive game. Sets himself up with off-ball movement and especially showed he could be a nice catch-and-shoot player. Forces the defense to tighten up on him which allows Frey to use the dribble drive to setup teammates. Has picked up offers from Miami (OH), Ohio, and Toledo since the 2022 Challenge.
