Each team played 4 games with a possible All-Star game. The All-Star games lived up to the hype with many coaches walking away impressed with what they saw and 6 basketball offers were given out so far.
We will go back and look at each teams players.
Here is Team Oregon:
Top-20 game
Junior Hodnett SG 6’2 (Rio Rancho-NM)
-The top shooter at the camp made it look easy. He has good quickness in the open court and is sneaky athletic plus he is a good passer. He defends his position well and is the best pure shooter I have seen since Josh Baker. He has a quick release and he has one of those shots that look good every attempt.
Zereoue Williams Zereoue Williams 6'7" | PF Mountain Pointe | 2021 AZ (Mountain Pointe)
-A powerfully built low post forward is tough to move inside the paint. He sets strong picks, he is a top-notch rebounder with strong hands and a very good shot blocker. He moves swiftly up the court and he outlets the ball after a rebound. He was my top teammate award two years in a row and has that way about him on and off the court. He can score with his back to the basket with hook shots and is slowly facing up from elbow and in.
Steven Cervantes Steven Cervantes 5'10" | PG Mesa | 2021 State AZ (Mesa)
-A scoring PG with an elite feel for the game. He is very hard to keep in front of with his constant changing of speeds and tight handle. He has deep 3pt range and a polished floater to utilize. He makes pinpoint passes to teammates and he is crafty off the pick and roll to make a play off of it. He has real speed in the open court and has improved is on-ball defense in the last year.
Nathan Henry SF 6’4 (Fraser-MI)
-The Michigan wing came a long way and impressed. He has a stronger frame and can score it from all 3 levels. He makes 3’s best off the catch and he can pull-up from the mid-range. He can take the ball to the rack and score it through contact. He is a good rebounder in his area and an active multi-positional defender.
Julian Roberts Julian Roberts 6'9" | C Bella Vista Prep | 2022 State AZ (Glenview College Prep)
-A long and lean lefty can really stroke the ball from deep. He is an above the rim athlete that does play mostly facing up but can take the ball to the basket and absorb some contact to score. He also was an outstanding shot blocker. He usually came over from the weak side and altered or blocked the shot. He was one of the breakout players at the camp and shows nice upside.
Shamar Moore Shamar Moore 6'4" | SG Peoria | 2022 State AZ (Peoria)
-A sturdy framed guard has really played well this summer and showed it once again last week. He is very consistent off the catch from the 3pt line and an exceptional passer in the open court. He moves well without the ball and can flush it down on the break. His mid-range jumper keeps improving and he uses his strength and length to defend his position.
Andrew Camacho Andrew Camacho 6'1" | CG Peoria | 2023 State AZ (Peoria)
-A high IQ shooting guard can make plays for others with his savvy and court vision plus score it. He has deep range beyond the 3pt line and is one of the toughest players we had at the camp. He takes charges like it’s the norm and fights hard inside for rebounds and loose balls. He moves smartly without the ball and knows when to cut to the hoop for a layup. His toughness, high skill level and court awareness made him the lone Top-20 soph.
Top-40 game:
Elijah Black SG 6’0 2022 Mount Miguel (CA)
-A freaky athlete with a strong frame/build. He seems to fly in the open court and runs by most defenders. He attacks the basket with his tighter handle, strong body, speed and athleticism. He doesn’t attempt many shots outside the paint but is tough on the ball defensively and a terror in the open court.
Others:
William Hunt SG 6’1 2021 Yuma Catholic
-A smart guard who picked his spots on this loaded team to be successful. He can shoot it to the 3pt line and was good driving the ball to the basket. He is very competitive on the defensive end and rebounds well plus he showed off his IQ. He should have a breakout year in 3A with some of his top players graduating.
