This tournament was a fantastic showcase of all of the talent in the area, many of which will receive a major uptick in recruiting! Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!
Emanuel Lawrence 2021 6’6 Atlanta Celtics South 17U- Groves High School
Emanuel is a scrappy player who plays with a great motor and energy around the court. He stood out this weekend due to his intensity and ability to get up and down the court and affect the game on both ends. I was impressed with his ability to fit his team’s offense, with a dominant and skilled center in Jaheim Robinson, Lawrence showed an ability to work off the space he creates. I was impressed with his ability to set screens to get his defender switched onto his dominant big, and then bully the opposing big around the arc when switched onto him.
Isacc Britto 2021 6’4 Atlanta Allstars 17U- Trinity Christian
Isacc is an incredibly long athlete with great ball skills and the ability to beat his defenders off the dribble. He is confident in his ability to get downhill and does so with ease, and is great at using his length to step around defenders. He can initiate offense and makes the right read every time down the court. I would like to see more work on his pull up jumper and confidence with his off-hand around the rim.
Elijah Williams Elijah Williams 6'3" | SF Thrive Christian Academy | 2021 State GA 2021 6’3 ATL AZTECS (4ALL2NV) 17U- Thrive Christian Academy
Elijah is an intelligent player who uses his size to dominate smaller guards down low. He plays with great confidence and has the ability to hit pull up threes and get to the rim. He is a great player cutting off the ball and always seems to be in the right position to get open looks in the paint and around the arc as a result of his off-ball work. On the defensive end, he goes for the home run type play, getting caught in bad positioning at times as a result for a hard reach, yet made impressive plays getting chase-down blocks and securing rebounds.
Jackson Greene Jackson Greene 6'6" | PF Lambert | 2021 State GA 2021 6’6 Atlanta Wolfpack 2021- Lambert High School
Jackson is an incredible athlete for his size. He is agile and moves well with and without the basketball. On defense, he is an active and aware defender who calls out and operates his switches very well. He has all the tools to become an effective “three and d” type player who will see much success at the next level. His ball skills and awareness make him a standout player for his team. I would like to see more aggression, he always seems to be in the right spot at the right time but relies on others to create for himself. He has the ability to get to his spots, but only when he’s controlling the ball on the fast break. I would like to see increased work in his shot off the dribble and more exude more confidence over his senior campaign.
Brendan Rigsbee Brendan Rigsbee 6'2" | CG North Gwinnett | 2021 State GA 2021 6’2 Atlanta Timberwolves White 17U- North Gwinnett High School
Brendan is a strong finisher at the rim, he has the ability to finish on the other side of the rim. He is great at using his angles and attacking the middle of the floor from the wings and along the baseline. Without the basketball, he is always an active player running off screens and forcing his defender to work. I would like to see improvement in his confidence with his ball-handling ability and continued work on shooting off a live dribble. I would also like to see him become more locked in and stay aggressive on defense.
