This is a team I would have loved to see this Spring and Summer and they are still hoping to play in a couple tourneys if the opportunity arises. This group has some sleepers that colleges should definitely be taking more of a look at. This group is coached by former Gonzaga player Dave Cole and the team has a unique look to it with six of the players being siblings of former College players and/or children whose parents coach in High school or college.
WA Supreme 17u Purple Roster
2021 5’10 PG Marcus Cole (Federal Way HS) – 3.6 GPA. Played on Federal Way’s state team and his role will be much larger as a senior. Marcus is very quick and pushes the ball in the uptempo playing style. He is a hard nosed defender and has the ability to give opposing guards fits. He has added strength which will allow him to finish in the lane much more this upcoming year.
2021 6’1 SG Connor Drinkwine Connor Drinkwine 6'2" | SG Emerald Ridge | 2021 State WA (Emerald Ridge HS) – 3.9 GPA. Known as a deep range 3 point shooter. Shot 53% from 3 with 64 makes during 2019-2020 season. Connor Continues to work on deeper range, his pull up jumpshot and finishing at the rim. His length also allows him to get deflections and steals on defense. He is very good in transition shooting the 3 as well as coming off screens. HM all conference in 2020.
2021 6’5 SF Jaylen Barbee (Franklin Pierce HS) – 3.8 GPA. Jaylen is athletic and can play multiple positions. He can score inside and out with the ability to shoot the three, take players off the dribble and post up at 6’5. He runs a the floor well, covers the rim and rebounds on both ends. An all conference selection in 2020, averaging 16 points and 7 rebounds per game.
2021 6’4 CG Dylan Preston Dylan Preston 6'2" | SG Bonney Lake | 2021 State WA (Bonney Lake HS) – 3.7 GPA. Another High Academic student athlete. Dylan has the ability to push the ball, attack the rim and shoot the 3 ball when needed. He plays many rolls for his high school team, mainly out of necessity. When surrounded by teammates of different talents, Dylan is able to focus on his strengths which are leadership and running the club. He will be the lone returning HM all conference performer for his team next season.
2021 6’5 PF Josh Pemberton (Emerald Ridge HS) – 3.2 GPA. Josh plays the post but has the ability to step out and shoot 15 foot jumper at a high percentage. He has been working on improving his 3 point range. He moves well without the ball, very unselfish and is willing to give up his body for the team. He led his high school team in charges taken this year. He sets solid screens and passes well out of the post!
2021 6’2 SG Connor Howat (Auburn HS) – Connor is an athlete that plays with boundless energy. A baseball/football recruit that plays on a Auburn high school team loaded with multiple Division 1 level prospects, Connor plays within his role. Needed mainly to rebound, defend and hustle, Connor impacts the game in ways that do not show up on a stat sheet. An all around really solid player.
2021 6’2 SG Dylan Ihrig (Emerald Ridge HS) – 3.5 GPA. Dylan sat out of the 2019-2020 season due to an injury. During his physical therapy and rehab, he has become stronger and much more explosive. This has given Dylan the ability to attack the rim as well as catch and shoot from range. His return will have a major impact on Emerald Ridge’s season.
2022 6’1 G John Barbee (Franklin Pierce HS) – Very athletic getting to the rim and finishing. John plays with energy that gives him the ability to change a game. He is very good at going to his right and finishing at the basket. During the off season, he has been focusing on his strength, quickness and jumping. Also a willing defender on the perimeter.
2021 5’10 G Dreylan Decure (Federal Way HS) – A 5’10 combo guard plays with high energy all over the court. Dreylqn is q defensive talent and rim attacker on the offensive end.
