This should most definitely change when you look at the fact that these teams come to the state tournament and perform well every single year at all levels. The Greater Spokane League (GSL) is just one of the many leagues with talented and hard working college prospects. Below is part one of some of the names to know out of Eastern Washington in the 2021 (rising senior) class.
2021 6’7 PF Tyson Degenhart Tyson Degenhart 6'7" | SF Mt. Spokane | 2021 State #144 Nation WA (Mt. Spokane HS) is a very well known name by now, but it is possible he is still underrated some. He has gone head to head with O’Dea and Eastside Catholic in each of the past two years and given both teams some problems. The Boise State commit is one of the hardest working and skilled forwards around. He has some athleticism, but his basketball IQ and footwork is what sets him apart. Degenhart is ranked number six in 2021, but he can hold his own against anyone ranked above him on any given night.
2021 6’2 CG Mason Landdeck Mason Landdeck 6'2" | PG Desert Hills | 2021 State UT (Zillah HS) is one of the best tough shot makers in the state. He holds an offer from Eastern Washington University, but remains uncommitted to date. Landdeck is respected by his peers and plays for Washington Supreme on the circuit, but some folks may overlook him or not be as aware as he has played his high school ball for smaller schools each year. One consistent for him at each stop has been great stats and a whole lot of wins! A name to definitely know.
2021 6’5 SF Kobe Young Kobe Young 6'5" | SF Chiawana | 2021 State WA (Chiawana HS) is one of my favorite players to watch in the 2021 class when he is on. Young displays a great mixture of size, athleticism and shooting ability. The rising senior holds an offer from Idaho State. He is also a standout wideout on the gridiron, but he could also play Division 1 basketball if he so chooses. His motor and jumping ability helps his ability to rebound and block shots on the defensive end.
2021 6’4 SG Noah Pepper Noah Pepper 6'4" | SG Selah | 2021 State WA (Selah HS) is easily one of the hardest working and rugged players in the state. I love the way he puts his body on the line taking charges, setting screens, diving for loose balls and blocking out with physicality. Not to be overlooked, Pepper really has a high level offensive skill set. There is zero reason for him to not have offers at this stage. High character, hard working and skilled player in the 2021 class!
