Continue ReadingNC is full of talent and we know that size of the school does not necessarily dictate the talent of players that come out of it. With the Class of 2021 rising as seniors, we will take a closer look at some of the top 1A players in the state in that class.
Louisburg Guard Elijah Jamison Elijah Jamison 6'3" | PG Liberty Heights | 2022 State #204 Nation NC (2019-2020 Stats: 29.7 Points, 12.3 Rebounds & 3.8 Assist per game): One of the top overall Guards in the state, Elijah has put together a tremendous high school career and will look to put together a solid senior campaign. He is a strong Guard that can get into the paint at will to score the ball but also use his strength and athleticism to rebound at a high level.
Granville Central Terrance Harcum (2019-2020 Stars: 25.9 Points, 8.7 Rebounds & 6.8 Assist Per game): Another talented prospect that has picked up offers and interest from MM & HM programs. Harcum hit the ground running as a freshman and hasn’t looked back since, doing a bit of everything for his squad. Not only does he impact the game by scoring but he does an outstanding job of getting all his teammates involved with his ability to facilitate.
Cape Fear Christian Forward Paul Tako Paul Tako 6'7" | C Cape Fear Christian Academy | 2021 State NC (2019-2020 Stats: 10 Points, 6.9 Rebounds, 2.2 Blocks Per game): He arrived just before the season began, although his numbers won’t scream at you, we like the upside he brings to the table. Paul is a solid rebounder that can also stretch the floor at the forward, knocking down shots from three point land.
The Burlington School Forward Kuluel Mading Kuluel Mading 6'10" | C The Burlington School | 2021 State NC : As each week passes, he picks up more offers and interest from programs on numerous levels. There is alot to like about a player his height that has the skillset to do multiple things on both sides of the floor. The next steps for him will be to attempt to add some more muscle to his frame, as well as to increase the impact that he can make on the defensive end of the floor.
East Carteret HS Guard Bennie Brooks Bennie Brooks 6'4" | CG East Carteret | 2021 State NC (2019-2020 Stats: 25.2 Points, 8.5 Rebounds, 4.1 Assist): ECHS has been known as a successful basketball program for quite a few years now, with numerous players graduating and moving on to the next level of basketball. Brooks seems to be next up, following some very successful underclassmen years which led to his team finishing with a 22-4 record this past season. Scoring and rebounding are where he makes the most impact, at about 6’4, he understands how to position himself on the floor properly to attack to score as well as boxing out for easy rebounds.
