This series will take a look at some lesser-known players from smaller schools across Kentucky that have or will tear it up at the varsity level. You might not be able to find their hometown on a map, but that hasn’t stopped them from making a name for themselves.

[player_tooltip player_id="793770" first="Wyatt" last="Vieth"], St. Henry (2021) - One of the top players in the region for the last several seasons, Wyatt does a little bit of everything for a Saint Henry team that is the likely favorite to win the 9th region All A again next season.

Jude Bessler, St. Henry (2021) - An undersized post player with a great motor, Bessler was the difference maker for the Crusaders in their win over Beechwood last season to take the All A crown and then again at EKU as they won the All A state title.

[player_tooltip player_id="932767" first="Jacob" last="Meyer"], Holy Cross (2023) - An athletic combo guard, Meyer can get to the rim and finish with authority or score in the midrange. His three point shooting is still a work in progress but with his athleticism, Jacob only needs to be a capable shooter to keep defenses honest and allow him to get into the paint and do his damage.

[player_tooltip player_id="922991" first="Scotty" last="Draud"], Beechwood (2021) - One of the top 2021 scorers in Kentucky, Draud did a good job of rebounding the ball in his Junior season, averaging almost 8 per game. Scotty is a volume scorer who needs to improve his efficiency.

Joel Iles, Newport Central Catholic (2022) - Iles missed a handful of games in his Sophomore season but made an impact when he was on the court. A big wing, Joel was an efficient scorer and one of the top 3 point shooters in the region last season.

Noah Hoffmeister, Ludlow (2021) - Ludlow had an 18 win season in 2019-2020 and Hoffmeister’s scoring was a big reason why. Noah isn’t a great shooter from deep but still led the Panthers in field goal percentage, shooting almost 50% from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id="801588" first="Justin" last="Becker"], Robertson County (2022) - One of the leading scorers in the state as a Sophomore, Becker is a very skilled forward who helped Robertson County to one of their best seasons in school history.

Carson Schirmer, Bishop Brossart (2021) - Brossart has quietly been one of the best teams in the 10th region over the last few seasons and Carson is coming off a season averaging nearly 15 points per game and should see an increase in touches and shots in his Senior year.

Ricqiece Washington, Paris (2021) - Robinson is one of the top Seniors in the 10th region. Coming off a year where he led the Hounds with 18 points per game, Washington could get even more shots this season after [player_tooltip player_id="915179" first="Jamaun" last="Clark"]’s graduation.

[player_tooltip player_id="939382" first="Blake" last="Reed"], Bracken County (2024) - Only going to be a freshman this year, Reed has played varsity at Augusta and Bracken the last two seasons and already scored over 1,000 career points.

[player_tooltip player_id="801623" first="Kason" last="Hinson"], Augusta (2022) - A skilled combo guard, Kason can get into the paint and score with the best in the 10th region. If he can improve his three point shooting before next season, he could be a 50/40/90 candidate.
