In these times, every event becomes a valuable opportunity for players to showcase their skills. This weekend is no exception, as West Coast scouting legend Gerry Freitas host his exposure camp in Phoenix, Arizona. The two day event will feature drills, games and attendance by some of the top talent evaluators on the west coast. In this article PH takes a look at some of the most intriguing prospects in attendance.
Matur Dahl 6’10 PF Shadow Ridge 2021– Dahl is a skilled player that loves to step outside and shoot 3’s, as well as put the ball on the ground. His handle is better than expected and I’m looking to see if he truly does posses the wing skills that he displays on film.
Riley Fornerette Riley Fornerette 6'0" | PG Dysart | 2021 State AZ 6’0 PG Dysart 2021 – This kid came up to Vegas last winter for the Legacy Tip Off Classic, and absolutely balled out. In Vegas, he showed a great handle and the ability to shoot it from range. I’m just looking for a repeat performance.
Brett Hardt Jr Brett Hardt Jr 6'4" | PG Phhoenix Prep | 2021 State AZ 6’4 PG Rancho Solano Prep 2021 – Hardt is a lefty with a lot of wiggle in his game. He has an efficient handle and knows how to finish around the rim. On film, he is an exciting playmaker with an array of COD’s, I’m just excited to watch him play. Hardt is a high academic prospect, that sports a 4.3 GPA.
Mason Mich’l 6’7 PF Desert Oasis 2021 (#42PHN 2021) – Mich’l has a nice frame and good skill set. Will he be the finesse shooting mid range big that I saw during his high school season, or will the athletic freak capable of tearing down the rim emerge.
Daryian Matthews Daryian Matthews 6'5" | PF Dysart | 2021 State AZ 6’5 PF Dysart 2021 – I have to see this guy in person. Matthews put up some ridiculous rebounding numbers last season, averaging a double double along the way. As an undersized center Matthews averaged nearly 16 boards per game, including 16 games with at least 15 rebounds or more.
