Maryland/DC Recruiting Report

It’s been a wild week to say the least in the recruiting world. Monday was the first day that Division I programs could contact 2022 prospects and as a result, we saw more offers handed out than ever before. A significant amount of Maryland/DC prospects had their phones buzzing throughout the day from various levels. I’ll unpack those prospects and their offers here.

COMMITMENTS

2020 Southern guard Khiyon Washington announced his commitment to Prince George’s Community College. Washington was a standout in Southern Maryland since transferring to Indian Creek and immediately made his presence felt averaging 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Washington is a stat sheet stuffer as indicated by his per game averages and should fare well in the MD JuCo Conference.

2020 Mt. Carmel wing Will Little will attend The Kiski School for a post-grad prep season. The 6-foot-5 wing, who can contribute in many categories, should benefit from an extra year of polishing his overall game.

2020 Milford Mill guard [player_tooltip player_id="900206" first="Jermaine" last="Goodwyn"] has elected to attend Pro Holmes Sports Academy for a post-grad prep year. The 6-foot-2 southpaw put together a strong senior season and could catch program’s attention by reclassing to 2021.

OFFERS

2021 McDonogh wing [player_tooltip player_id="775326" first="Jared" last="Billups"] has received an offer from Niagra. The 6-foot-6 now has nine total offers and you can expect that number to rise in the next couple of weeks as more teams will start making a push.

2021 Sandy Springs wing [player_tooltip player_id="902016" first="Mohamed" last="Toure"] received an offer from Army. It marks as Toure’s first official offer. More programs that look into the 6-foot-5 wing should be intrigued with what he can offer in the long run.

2022 Wilson wing [player_tooltip player_id="777064" first="Darren" last="Buchanan Jr."] received an offer from Seton Hall. The Pirates mark as Buchanan’s first high major offer.

2022 Bishop McNamara forward [player_tooltip player_id="777061" first="Favour" last="Aire"] received offers from UConn, Maryland and Virginia Tech to bring the 6-foot-10 shot blocker’s offer count to eight.

2022 DeMatha guard [player_tooltip player_id="904621" first="Rodney" last="Rice"] was a name that picked up steam throughout high major programs. He received offers from UConn, LSU, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Rutgers and Wake Forest. The 6-foot-4 combo guard now stands with 19 total offers.

2022 Archbishop Spalding wing [player_tooltip player_id="837927" first="Cameron" last="Whitmore"] was arguably the top dog in terms of offers this week. The 6-foot-7 wing received offers from Bryant, Creighton, LSU Maryland, Mount St. Mary’s, Saint Joseph’s,Seton Hall and Southern Utah. He now holds 12 total offers.

2022 DeMatha wing [player_tooltip player_id="777065" first="Tyrell" last="Ward"] received offers from Georgetown, George Mason and Wake Forest. The 6-foot-5 versatile wings now boasts seven offers and is being sought after by many Power 5 conference schools.

2022 Gonzaga guard [player_tooltip player_id="777066" first="Judah" last="Mintz"] received offers from LSU, Maryland and Seton Hall. Mintz now holds nine total offers all of which are from mid or high major programs.

2022 Gilman guard Chrisitian Winborne was offered by Bryant, Delaware State, Howard, Mercer, Morgan State and Mount St. Mary’s. The 6-foot-2 guard is still flying under the radar as I believe he could be a tremendous prospect for the CAA or A-10 level.

2022 John Carroll guard [player_tooltip player_id="837919" first="Tyson" last="Commander"] was offered by George Mason. Commander’s offer total stands at nine consisting of multiple Big East programs. Don’t be surprise if more teams from said conference reach out with offers in the near future.

2022 Wise guard [player_tooltip player_id="904623" first="Trey" last="Thomas"] was offered by Bryant. Thomas is a 6-foot guard who is an electric scorer. He remains under recruited up to this point.

2022 St. John’s wing [player_tooltip player_id="904624" first="Christian" last="Watson"] saw a significant uptick after being offered by Arizona, Bryant, Georgetown, La Salle, LSU, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph’s as he now stands with 13 total offers.

2022 Glenelg Country wing [player_tooltip player_id="904620" first="Noah" last="Batchelor"] received offers from Marquette, NC State, Nebraska and Wake Forest. The 6-foot-6 wing continues to receive high major attention that started after his showing at USA Basketball Mini Camp.

2022 Poly guard [player_tooltip player_id="777095" first="Bryce" last="Lindsay"] received an offer from Howard. The 6-foot-2 sharpshooter is also received significant attention from a number of other programs that I expect to turn into offers soon.

2022 Sidwell Friends forward [player_tooltip player_id="777068" first="George" last="Perkins"] received offers from George Washington and VCU.

2022 St. John’s guard [player_tooltip player_id="904626" first="Shane" last="Lancaster"] received offers from Bryant, Mount St. Mary’s and Robert Morris.

2022 Gonzaga wing [player_tooltip player_id="904642" first="Jared" last="Turner"] received offers from Bryant, Hartford and Southern Utah.

2023 Poly wing [player_tooltip player_id="957019" first="Kwame" last="Evans"] Jr. received offers from TCU and Tennessee. The 6-foot-8 wing has established himself as a top player in his class who should eventually see blue blood programs reach out sometime within the calendar year.
