6A Region 1 District 6 Scouting Report: 2021 Wings and Forwards (Part 1/2)

This is my detailed scouting report on the wings and forwards from the 6A Region 1 District 6 teams in North Texas. The teams include Coppell, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Marcus, MacArthur, Hebron, Nimitz, and Irving. Be on the lookout for the rest of my scouting report on this entire district! Xavian Beene- Irving High School Xavian is a good off the dribble shooter with an ability to run an entire offense. He has the playmaking ability and ball skills to beat even elite defenders off the dribble and get to the rim. When he feels the defense collapse on him, he can get passes out to his open shooters. He is a long athletic player who is able to affect the game in a multitude of ways. He should continue to develop very well, and I am excited to see how he continues to fill into his long frame and athletic ability. [player_tooltip player_id="1009435" first="Kenny" last="Hardy"]- MacArthur High School Kenny is a true interior force who utilizes his strength to push around defenders on the block. He is an undersized power forward with the ability to punish players bigger than him. His strength is evident as he backs down players with ease and is able to get to comfortable looks for himself in the post. He relies heavily on baby hooks and soft turnaround looks on the block. I believe he is not done growing, but if he is nearing that he should focus on being able to beat players off the dribble and utilize his size and strength to bully defenders out of his way to finish in the lane. He has the potential and athletic ability to do whatever he wants to, opponents beware! Hayden Lacy- Flower Mound High School Hayden is a lanky wing who plays incredibly hard on both ends of the floor and effects the game in a multitude of ways. He has great instincts while driving and gets to the rim with ease. I would like to see more work on his handle and better decision making when getting to his favorite spots in the half-court. His on-ball defense is second to none, he has quick feet that allow him to stay in front of the ball and active hands that have a knack for getting to the ball. His length allows him to reject shots with ease and forces so many of his opponents to be uncomfortable. [player_tooltip player_id="1003760" first="Cale" last="Martens"]- Marcus High School Cale is a real paint presence with his size but has the range to affect the game in multiple ways. His quick feet and nimble footwork in the paint and post allow him to bully defenders on the block. He finishes extremely well in the paint even through contact. He has a real ability to stretch the floor and knocks down jumpers all around the arc with ease. His ability to take his defenders out of the paint and open driving lanes for his teammates is such a valuable skill to have. He has a real ability to become an effective stretch four at the next level, especially if he continues to grow.
