Their players are tasked with constantly chasing the basketball and creating a hounding presence which they did to great success. They boasted a 27-7 record and made it to the third round of the playoffs this year, losing to an elite team from Richardson. This is my in-depth scouting report on the wings and forwards from Waxahachie.
Jordan Davis- Wing 2022
Jordan is a large combo guard who looks like he is not done growing. He showed good dribbling skills, staying low to the ground to blow by defenders and exploding up to finish at the rim. He finished with ease at the rim and showed skill naturally spinning and contorting his body away from defenders. He is a great athlete to have run the fast break which is where most of his offense comes from. His frame and arm length should be incredibly appealing to coaches at the next level. I am interested to see how he grows into his body and game; he is an athlete we should all have our eyes on.

– Guard/ Wing 2021 6’4
Jalen is an elite scorer with a great shooting touch. He moves well without the basketball and gets himself set up with clean looks with ease. His shot motion begins a little low, but despite this he has long arms that allow him to shoot over defenders. His jumper is straight, and he shoots the basketball with confidence. He is a sniper from the wing where he seems to be the most comfortable. Lake is a scrappy defender who plays hard defense all around the court. His lanky body and arms allow for hounding defense to be played, if he keeps up his energy, he should be able to compete at the defensive end with ease at the next level.
Christian O’Donnel- Guard/ Wing 2021 6’3
Christian showed an elite ability to throw full-court passes and hit his teammates in stride. He possesses an elite ball-handling ability and has a clean and tight behind the back move that he likes to hit defenders within transition. He showed a relentless ability to play scrappy on-ball defense, and even came up with blocked and stripped shots multiple times on singular possessions. He is not afraid to put his body on the line for the basketball and does so in a passionate manner.
CJ Noland- Wing 2021 6’1
CJ is a remarkable dual-sport athlete who shows true aggression and athletic ability on the basketball court. He had jaw-dropping chase-down blocks, shutting down the opponent’s fast-break opportunities. He showed great knowledge of contorting his body and using it to seal defenders off to create easy looks for himself. He utilizes tempo to his advantage and seems to lull defenders to sleep by maintaining a controlled slow pace and then bursting past them with an explosion of speed to maintain good offensive positioning. He showed an elite awareness on the defensive end and moves his feet very well, setting himself up for great charges and contests on shots in the lane. He has an incredible motor that never seems to shut off when he is on the court, explaining his tremendously impressive box scores.
Sammy Kaoud- Forward 2020
Sammy is an athletic forward with a great feel for the game. He showed strength on the block, but his game is designed to run up and down on the break and punish players on the break.
For his size he moves around the floor with ease and hustles hard for every loose ball. He is a tenacious defender and gets many steals by getting his long arms around a failed post up attempt on him. He was normally tasked with defending the biggest and most skilled wing which he seemed to always stand up to the challenge. His frame allows him to disrupt players with arms that seem to swallow up ball handlers.
