Some may have played on a stacked team and was unable to get big minutes. Others may have had a really good sophomore year but look to make noise in their junior campaigns.
Here is a list of wing players who we will soon see soar.
Sheldon ‘Peanut’ Williams Sheldon ‘Peanut’ Williams 6'5" | SF Escambia | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’5 SF, Escambia: A name that has been circulating more and more since the end of the school season. He was looking to have a breakout year on the circuit by showing how valuable his versatility is at that wing position. He has played a good bit in the post early on because of his length and size however he definitely projects out to the wing position. He needs to continue to improve his ball-handling but is a terror in the open court attacking the basket and as a rim protector on the defensive end of the floor.
Elijah Terry Elijah Terry 6'5" | SF Enterprise | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’5 SF, Carroll: Another good looking prospect from the wing position in the class of ’22. He has very good length and looks the part of today’s wing players. He can put it on the floor and score from multiple positions on the floor. He shoots it well from the outside and has a nice back to the basket game when smaller players try and guard him. He has the potential to be a very good defender with the ability to guard multiple positions. Keep your eyes on this high flying prospect.
Chris Conner Chris Conner 6'3" | SF Paul Bryant | 2022 State #NA Nation AL ,6’3 SF, Bryant: this smooth and athletic lefty can get it done on both ends of the floor. His handle is one thing that sets him apart from most wings on this list. He has the ability to step out and play the “Big Guard” role and help with ball-handling but is definitely most effective working from the wing and in transition. He has very good athletic ability and with continuous work could become a very good defender. A hoopers hooper!
Devin Doss Devin Doss 6'3" | SF Sheffield | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’3 SF, Sheffield: An absolute freak of an athlete who most times looks like a man amongst boys while out on the floor. His strength and physicality is many times too much for defenders to deal with during the course of a game. His ability to overpower opponents in the paint is a nightmare for opposing coaches to game plan for. he runs the floor well and is a very good finisher in transition. He needs to continue to improve his lateral quickness to be able to guard smaller perimeter players when teams try and go small against him.
Demontae Washington Demontae Washington 6'2" | SF Tallassee | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’2 SF, Lee-Montgomery: a high motor and extremely active wing that goes hard the entire time he is out on the floor. He is an extremely athletic wing who will not hesitate to help a defender go viral by adding him to one of his mixtapes if he dares contest him at the rim. He is a relentless driver of the basketball when attacking the basket. He is a very good rebounder for his position and always seems to be somewhere around the ball. A very good looking prospect that coaches should definitely take some interest in ASAP.
