SubscribeRichardson is an elite team from Dallas who lost in the fourth round of the Texas 6A State Championship. They host a dynamic backcourt that is surprisingly youthful and full of talent ready to succeed at the next level. Here is my detailed scouting report on the guards from Richardson.
Jaylon Barnett- Point Guard 2021 5’9
Jaylon is a quick-footed guard with great recovery ability on the defensive side of the ball who forces his opponents into turnovers and bad opportunities. He is great at finding his teammates ahead of him on the fast break and was elite at creating easy looks for them in transition. He controls the tempo and the game well and gets his teammates involved whenever they feel left out of the offense or out of rhythm. He is an energetic player who plays with his hair on fire to disrupt opponents on the defensive end and spark life into his team on the offensive end. When left alone, Barnett is a confident spot-up shooter who has great touch from the corners. He knows how to finish despite his size and has an array of moves while going up with the basketball.
Tre Howell- Combo Guard 2022 6’0
Tre is an athletic combo guard with great reach on his arms that he uses to his advantage on the defensive side of the ball. He seems to have a good strong base and frame to begin with, and with hard work and dedication could turn into an elite defender and a great player to have to throw at ball handlers and scorers. His athletic build and long arms should transition well to the next level and I am interested to see how his body grows with age and time in the weight room.

2022 6-3
Cason is an elite finisher in the lane. Despite his size and going against bigger wings he relentlessly was able to get to the rim with easy layups and tenacious putback attempts from missed shots from his teammates. He showed great intelligence and awareness at rebounding the basketball and understands how the ball reacts with the rim depending on the shot. He seemed to be on the offensive and defensive glass all night. Wallace always looked to take the ball coast to coast and down a defender’s throat if given the opportunity after a defensive board. He is tenacious on the defensive end as he has active hands and quick feet that make it easy for him to stay in front of the ball and wreak havoc. Wallace has the potential to make it very far at the next level, he showed true skill operating as the primary ball-handler as well as showing an expertise in shooting off of the catch. His game really reminds me of a Bradley Beal or Klay Thompson with more playmaking ability.
Jamille Burnett 2020 6-2
Jamille is a long guard with broad shoulders and strong weight behind him who plays energetic and clamping on-ball defense. He was tasked with guarding the other teams most potent offensive weapon most of the time as a result of his drive and energy on the floor. He is great at hustling for loose balls and comes up with a good number of steals, deflections, and forced turnovers as a result of his tenacity on that end of the floor. He gets great opportunities to finish easy put-backs as a result of his hustle on the offensive board and had many plays where he ripped the ball out of defender’s hands, even after they had secured a rebound.
