Notably all of these standouts will be playing college basketball next season at various levels. Here’s a look at the top newcomers in the final Class of 2020 rankings.
#73 – Conner Marchant Conner Marchant 6'0" | CG Toledo | 2020 State OR , Toledo
The 2A Player of the Year, Marchant certainly accumulated plenty of individual accolades while leading Toledo to the state title. The 6-foot guard pretty much did it all in the Boomers high-octane offense and his name is littered throughout the state’s record books, most notably as the third all-time leading scorer with 2,533 career points. Marchant will be playing next year at Division III Southern Virginia alongside older brother and former 2A POY Isaiah Marchant.
#76 – James Moore James Moore 6'3" | CG Blanchet Catholic | 2020 State OR , Blanchet Catholic
Moore really ascended the past two seasons at Blanchet Catholic after former star RJ Veliz transferred to Woodburn. At 6-foot-3 he is a versatile talent, capable of playing any position in the backcourt. He really exceled in scoring as a senior, producing 25 points per game. A high-academic performer, Moore decided to play next season at George Fox.
#86 – Jalen Lampman Jalen Lampman 6'2" | SG Lakeview | 2020 State OR , Lakeview
One of the top shooters at the 2A level, Lampman had a solid senior campaign at Lakeview. While the 6-foot-2 guard is best known for his shooting, he also has the ability to play at the point. Lampman signed early in the fall to play close to home at OIT where he joined an impresive incoming class of in-state players.
#87 – Caden Long Caden Long 6'4" | SG Baker | 2020 State OR , Baker
Bushnell (formerly Northwest Christian) has successfully recruited kids out of Eastern Oregon the past few seasons and Long is their latest signee. The Greater Oregon League player of the year is a 6-foot-4 wing that runs the floor and finishes at the rim and just needs to improve his overall ball skills to contribute at the NAIA level.
#88 – Ethan Hutsell Ethan Hutsell 6'5" | PF Phoenix | 2020 State OR , Phoenix
Hutsell is an all-around 6-foot-5 forward/wing with solid length and the ability to create and finish in the open floor. He also has a fairly nice outside jumper when open. A high-academic student Hutsell found the right fit to play next season at Pacific University in Forest Grove.
