After watching multiple games of this team against some of the best competition, here is my detailed scouting report on each athlete.
Zshuric Phelps- Shooting Guard 6’2 2021
Zhuric is an athletic slashing guard that loves throwing down on bigger defenders and takes pride in his work on the defensive end. He is a good spot-up shooter when he has a clean look, but his true prowess lies driving and contorting his body in the paint and finishing through contact. He takes on bumps in the air and contesting defenders with ease, an elite skill for a junior. Phelps has a lightning-quick first step out of the triple threat that consistently freezes defenders creating open lanes to the paint. He is smart in creating open looks as a result of the defense collapsing on him.
Phelps always seems to be making the right reads and sets up spot-up threes and open mid-range attempts for his teammates. Zhuric is also a good defender on the ball who plays with intensity on that end of the floor and likes to make his opponents uncomfortable and working.

– Guard- 6’2 2021
Juan is an elite shooter off the catch and is deadly accurate when he has an open look. He hit a lot of shots in big moments to either restore or keep momentum going in the game. He also kept the defense jumping out of their shoes with simple head fakes to open his midrange and runners in the lane as well as making smart reads to find diving teammates. He has a lot of Klay Thompson in his game with more playmaking ability, a lightning-quick release and he is incredibly comfortable in the corner. He showed great footwork operating out of the triple threat along the sideline and three-point line, something you do not see until a very elite level. He is a scrappy on-ball defender as well, forcing bad pickups and causing multiple turnovers as well as getting his sticky fingers on steals.

– Guard 5’10 2020
Ja’Bryant is a great decision-maker in the open floor and runs the dynamic offense of Duncanville very well, as he facilitates well for open teammates and slashes to keep pressure on the defense. He does not mind contact when finishing at the rim and is great at adjusting his body midair to avoid defenders which is an essential skill especially with his undersized frame. He makes good reads breaking full-court pressure and traps in the half-court. He is also normally the set in-bounder on designed out of bounds plays, in which he made tight passes over the top of the defense and through crowds of defenders for easy jumpers. On the defensive end he likes to go for the home run, constantly going all out to cut off passing lanes, resulting in some easy buckets for his opponents and some fast break starting steals for himself.
C.J. Ford- Guard 6’1 2022
CJ is a sophomore with tremendous potential, he has a tight handle and an explosive nature to his game. He played in limited minutes for the elite 6A state champions but showed great basketball intelligence making the right decisions with the ball. He loves to drive with the basketball and create opportunities for his teammates.
