Moorestown spent most of the season in the top 20 and the Quakers should be a top team again in 2020-21. The county is filled with talented guards capable of carrying teams. Here are the top guards in Burlington County.
Jamaal Morris Jamaal Morris 5'10" | PG Trenton Catholic | 2022 NY , 5’10 PG Burlington City 2022
The Blue Devils have been one of the top teams in Group 1 over the last two seasons, but they will have to replace their all-time leading scorer in DJ Woodbury DJ Woodbury 6'2" | CG Burlington City | 2020 State NJ . Morris was the team’s top three-point shooter last season and will be tasked with becoming a more complete scorer in 2020-21. The 5’10 guard has a quick release on his shot and can knock down three-pointers in bunches. Morris has a good handle and is capable of running the offense. Burlington City should compete for the Central Jersey Group 1 title again with Morris leading the way.
Daniel Thomas Daniel Thomas 5'10" | PG Burlington Township | 2021 State NJ , 5’10 PG Burlington Township 2021
The Falcons were seconds away from making their second straight appearance in the Central Jersey Group 3 title game and they should be a tough team to beat next season. Thomas ran the offense for Burlington Township, but is also capable of scoring the basketball. He is tough to contain off the bounce and knows how to finish around the basket. Thomas is a scrappy guard who plays tough defense and fights for rebounds. Burlington Township returns Jordan Dotson down low, giving the Falcons a solid duo for 2020-21.
Bryce Butler Bryce Butler 6'0" | PG Life Center Academy | 2023 State NJ , 5’7 PG Life Center Academy 2023
Wesley Robinson Wesley Robinson 6'6" | PF Life Center Academy | 2021 State NJ and Justin Hawkins Justin Hawkins 6'7" | SF Life Center Academy | 2022 State NJ are both capable of running the offense, but Butler is the point guard for Life Center Academy. The 5’7 point guard is lightning quick and is tough to contain off the bounce. Butler can finish around the basket and has a good-looking stroke on his jumper. He is a good passer and plays with quick hands on defense. Life Center Academy should be one of the top teams in Burlington County again next season with Butler returning at point guard.
Marcus Gaffney Marcus Gaffney 6'2" | SG Pennington | 2023 State NJ , 6’2 SG Northern Burlington 2022
The Greyhounds were led by Lorenzo Repack in 2019-20 and they will need to replace his scoring in 2020-21. Gaffney was tasked with running the offense last season, but will be asked to take on a bigger scoring load. The 6’2 guard knows how to attack the basket from the perimeter and has a solid mid-range game. Gaffney is a good rebounder for a guard and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Northern Burlington will be looking to win more than 14 games in 2020-21 with Gaffney leading the scoring attack.
Gabriele Bisceglie, 6’3 CG Holy Cross Prep 2021
The Crusaders lose Gianmarco Arletti Gianmarco Arletti 6'6" | SF Holy Cross Prep | 2020 State NJ and Giovanni Cessel Giovanni Cessel 6'9" | C Holy Cross Prep | 2021 State PA to graduation, but they have a solid 2021 duo in Bisceglie and Stefano Faloppa Stefano Faloppa 6'8" | SF Holy Cross Prep | 2022 OH .
