A rock solid guard who handles it and passes it well, Steffen is a good floor general who can get others involved but is also a solid scoring threat. He saw his efficiency numbers suffer this year as he became Linn-Mar’s primary scoring option, but he still averaged 15.6 points a game and could’ve had a really nice senior year with a little bit better 3-point shooting. As he moves to the next level, his shooting numbers should improve with higher quality looks.
42 | Jake Hull Jake Hull 6'3" | SF Grinnell | 2020 State IA | SF | Grinnell
Hull burst onto our radars a few summers ago, when he was routinely putting up 30-40 point games with Iowa Intensity throughout the grassroots season. A 6-3 wing with the ability to score from all three levels, he can really fill it up when he gets it rolling. He’ll play both basketball and baseball at the next level, staying home to play at Grinnell College.
43 | Sam Kilburg Sam Kilburg 6'0" | PG North Scott | 2020 State IA | PG | North Scott
Kilburg is about as solid as they come. He’s a great ball handler and passer, a fantastic perimeter shooter and a good perimeter defender who competes hard on every possession on both ends of the floor. A 5-11 lead guard, he shot 46.9% from behind the arc as a senior, led the Lancers with 87 assists and is a tough, physical guard who can really get after it on the defensive end of the floor.
44 | Jaden Keller Jaden Keller 6'5" | SF Waterloo West | 2020 State IA | SF | Waterloo West
A skilled 6-5 wing, Keller is a great passer with good size. He has a good feel for the game and does a great job finding open cutters or shooters. He can score on the block, is a good rebounder with the ability to rip-and-run, and is a versatile defender.
45 | Bradley Andrews Bradley Andrews 6'6" | PF Charles City | 2020 State IA | PF | Charles City
A supremely athletic 6-7 lefty big man, Andrews provided plenty of highlights throughout the year with his ability to finish above the rim. He has worked to expand his game, and is a capable shooter from the arc while also being a viable rim protector. He’s an explosive athlete with good hands, solid footwork and touch around the basket.
46 | Zack Lasek Zack Lasek 6'7" | PF Highland | 2020 State IA | PF | Highland
Lasek was among the top 10 for quite a while in our rankings, but has a brighter future on the gridiron. He’ll be a defensive lineman at Iowa. A rangy 6-7 forward with good athleticism and a solid perimeter stroke, he was a matchup problem at the 1A level with his size, athleticism and ability to score inside and out. Had he decided to pursue the basketball route and focus on that full time, he would’ve been a coveted prospect.
47 | Tyler Johnson Tyler Johnson 6'4" | SF Norwalk | 2020 State IA | SF | Norwalk
Playing alongside Bowen Born Bowen Born 5'11" | PG Norwalk | 2020 State #401 Nation IA , Johnson sometimes gets overshadowed, but he’s a great player in his own right. A 6-4 wing with a good frame to continue adding strength to, he’s a knockdown shooter who was 47.4% from behind the arc this season. He can defend any perimeter spot, obviously shoots it at a high level, and can create his own looks. He’s headed to play college ball at Nebraska Wesleyan.
48 | Raezjuan Shockley Raezjuan Shockley 6'4" | PF Cedar Rapids Jefferson | 2020 State IA | SF | Cedar Rapids Jefferson
Among the top 50 prospects, Shockley is probably the biggest project of the group, but he also has incredible upside. He’s an eye-popping athlete who lives above the rim and has the athleticism to impact the game in a multitude of ways. A 6-3 wing with a developing skill set, he rebounds well, runs the floor and finishes in transition, and has a decent free throw stroke. He needs to add range to his game, but at worst he’s an energy guy off the bench for a smaller college program.
49 | JD Stout JD Stout 6'0" | SG Keota | 2020 State IA | SG | Keota
The 6-0 guard really developed throughout his four-year varsity career, turning himself from largely a gunner as a freshman and sophomore, into a great all-around scoring threat for the Eagles as a junior and senior. He averaged 29.1 points a game as a senior, with 55-38-85 shooting splits. He’ll play college ball at either William Penn or Briar Cliff.
50 | Jon Schwarte Jon Schwarte 6'10" | C Treynor | 2020 State IA | C | Treynor
The 6-10 big man is still a work in progress on both ends of the floor, but has the type of size that doesn’t come around too often. He runs the floor well, can protect the rim and is an adequate rebounder. He’ll need to add strength and become more assertive on the offensive end of the floor, but you don’t find many 6-10 players around the state, and he’s one who has some skills to go along with his frame.
