Top-5’s in 2021: Speed with the ball

<p>With the possibility of losing the entire AAU season this year, I will try and mention all 115 juniors ranked. </p> <p>I like to take a look at my annual “Top-5’s”.</p> <p>Every player has their 1 skill they usually excel at.   </p> <p>It’s just a fun way to take a look at players’ elite skills in different categories. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We move over to the 10 players with their insane speed with the ball. These are the players that can essentially be a one man fast break and break a press on their own at times. </p> <p>Here are my Top-5:</p> <p>1. [player_tooltip player_id="809692" first="Montez" last="Taylor"] (Williams Field)</p> <p>-The fastest end to end player has some serious jets! Amazing with the ball in his hands and can also make others better and shoot it. </p> <p>2. [player_tooltip player_id="806816" first="Frankie" last="Collins"] (AZ Compass Prep) </p> <p>-A freight train coming at you while still shifting speeds and getting into the paint and creating contact. </p> <p>3. [player_tooltip player_id="809703" first="Derick" last="Kaps"] (Highland)</p> <p>-An athletic and very fast pure PG with the ball in his hands. His shot is improved and he flies in the open court. </p> <p>4. [player_tooltip player_id="932093" first="John" last="Gaines"] (Deer Valley)</p> <p>-Arguably the top first step of this group seems to explode athletically with speed. </p> <p>5. [player_tooltip player_id="932153" first="Chianti" last="ClayJr."] (Hillcrest Prep)</p> <p>-A fast and skilled lead guard for the loaded prep team. He can really shoot it and plays fast. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>5-more:</p> <p>1. [player_tooltip player_id="703847" first="Tampa" last="Scott"] (Gilbert) </p> <p>-A jet quick ball handler is fast with the ball and a very good on-ball defender who keeps improving every year as a scorer. </p> <p>2. [player_tooltip player_id="809723" first="Dwight" last="McKnight"] (Valley Vista)</p> <p>-A downhill lightning fast guard is very good on defense. He has a great burst and likes getting into the paint. </p> <p>3. [player_tooltip player_id="932394" first="Monta" last="TylerJr"] (Casa Grande)</p> <p>-A fast lefty ball handler is obviously under the radar of where he plays. Can score it and defend.</p> <p>4. [player_tooltip player_id="809720" first="Adrian" last="Galindo"] (Hamilton)</p> <p>-A pure PG is very good with the ball. A quick twitch athlete is also a soccer stud with his quick feet. </p> <p>5. [player_tooltip player_id="809731" first="Corey" last="Perry"] (Peoria) </p> <p>-A very quick ball handler who can shoot the cover off the ball. He hit five 3's versus St. Mary's in the Final-4! His speed with and without the ball allows him to get open to shoot. </p>
