Class 1A
Great Falls HS defeated High Point Academy (Spartanburg) 86-66
The Red Devils last one a state championship back in 2012 under legendary Head Coach John Smith. Kelton Talford (Winthrop) led the Red Devils with 24 points. Tydriez Coleman (2023) added 17 points in the victory. Kell Brown and Donnell Adams both added 16 points a piece. The Red Devils will now play Scott’s Branch HS (Summerton) in the Class 1A State Championship.
Class 2A
Gray Collegiate defeated Andrew Jackson HS (Kershaw) 59-37
The War Eagles will try for a 3-peat this season under Head Coach Dion Bethea. Tauris Watson (2020) led the War Eagles with 16 points. Latavian Lawrence and Tim Barnes both added 10 points a piece in the victory over the Volunteers. Chase McDuffie (2021) added 7 points in the win.
Class 3A
Keenan HS defeated Seneca HS 59-45
The Raiders keep it rolling and will look for a repeat when they play Wade Hampton HS (Hampton) on Saturday at 3:30 P.M. The Raiders were led in scoring by Raekwon Horton (2020) with 25 points. Jazian Gortman (2022) and Semajeh Echols (2022) both added 11 points apiece in the win while Joseph Barrino chipped in with 9 points. The Raiders improve to (24-6) on the season.
The Bobcats finished the season at (23-7). Jared Rogers and EJ Evett both will be back next season for the Bobcats. Rogers finished with 17 points while Evett added 12 points.
Class 4A
Ridge View HS defeated Wren HS 59-55
The Blazers will look for a 3-peat come this Saturday night at the Colonial Life Arena vs Myrtle Beach HS. The Blazers were led in scoring by Tyler Rice (2021) and Cincere Scott (2020) both with 13 points a piece. Jaden Kennedy added 10 points while Javon Benson (South Carolina) added 7 points.
Bryce McGowens (2021) a Florida State commit scored 21 points for the Hurricanes in the loss. Josh Owens (2021) added 14 points while Montez Frazier chipped in with 11 points. McGowens now has 1,882 career points while making 231 three pointers for the Hurricanes.
Class 5A
Dorman HS defeated Wade Hampton HS (Greenville) 66-40
The Cavaliers will try for 4 straight state championships come this Friday night. Dorman HS plays Dutch Fork HS in the championship game. Myles Tate (Butler) led the way with 15 points while Jalen Breazeale (2021) added 13 points.
