SubscribePrep Hoops Missouri was in the house at Francis Howell Central for the Class 5 state quarterfinal game between Chaminade and Mehlville. After trailing at halftime, Chaminade came back with a big second half to take a 60-51 victory to earn its fifth Final Four berth in six years.

Chaminade
Luke Kasubke Luke Kasubke 6'5" | SG Chaminade Prep | 2020 State #128 Nation MO : The 6’5 2020 guard scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Red Devils. Although it was an up and down senior campaign, the Kansas State signee closed his career with a big performance. He did a lot of damage by attacking the rim hard and getting the buckets. That set up his perimeter shot, which is what he is known for.
Tarris Reed, Jr.: The 6’8 2022 forward scored 16 points while being a pillar of strength inside and a matchup problem with his versatility. His footwork and post game in the paint is formidable, but he also has a nice shooting touch from the perimeter. He knocked down a key 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.
Damien Mayo: The 6’2 2022 power guard scored 12 points and displayed the ability to do whatever is needed to help his team win. He is an excellent defender who can rebound and handle the ball. His mid-range jumper off the bounce is automatic. He had the highlight of the game with an explosive drive and slam dunk to open the fourth quarter.
Matteus Case Matteus Case 6'5" | SG Chaminade | 2020 State MO : The 6’5 2020 guard is an unsung hero for the Red Devils. He could be a 18-20 point a game scorer on most teams, but he does a good job of fitting in his talents on a team full of standouts. He is a capable ball handler with good athleticism and a nice perimeter stroke.
Mehlville
Lamontay Daugherty Lamontay Daugherty 6'7" | PF Mehlville | 2020 State MO : The 6’7 2020 forward had a big performance with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He was the toughest matchup problem in the game with his guard-like skills on the perimeter and his rebounding and shot blocking inside. He attacks the offensive glass hard and can go coast to coast off a defensive rebound at any time.
Dylan Branson Dylan Branson 6'5" | SG Mehlville | 2020 State #248 Nation MO : The 6’5 2020 guard scored 12 points and made several plays for his teammates with pinpoint passing. He is a bullish performer who uses his strength and physicality whenever possible. He has a high basketball IQ and also made some good defensive plays while darting into the passing lanes.
Davion Bradford Davion Bradford 7'0" | C Mehlville | 2020 State #138 Nation MO : The 7’0 Kansas State signee had a lot of company in the lane as he was surrounding by Chaminade defenders throughout the game. His touches in the post were limited, but he was able to make himself a factor on the boards and with his shot blocking.
