We wanted to take a couple stories to honor those who just missed the cut for our first, second and third team selections.
Don’t miss our other All-SoCal Teams! First Team, Player and Coach of the Year, Second Team, Third Team
G Jared McCain, Corona Centennial – McCain had a big time freshman season and burst onto the SoCal high school basketball scene as one of the best catch-and-shoot guys in the region. The 6-foot-1 combo guard bought in to everything our Coach of the Year, Josh Giles, had in mind for him and he played with a fearlessness and poise well-beyond his years.

, Rancho Christian – At times, the Gonzaga-bound guard was the most consistent scorer on the floor for the 22-win Eagles. His ability to create offense in isolation was a big reason why Rancho Christian scored a big mid-season upset win over Sierra Canyon at the Classic at Damien. The 6-foot-3 senior also made strides as a decision-maker and all-around guard.

, Westchester – Wainwright was one of the catalysts for the Los Angeles City Section Open Division champion Comets. The 6-foot-3 junior sharpshooter did a nice job of spreading the floor with the catch-and-shoot triple and brought good energy to both sides of the floor.
F Koat Keat Koat Keat 6'9" | PF Crean Lutheran | 2022 State #100 Nation CA-S , Renaissance Academy – Keat was one of the surprise individual performers of the season. Much like his Renaissance Academy team as a whole, many SoCal hoop heads didn’t know what to expect from Keat, but were pleased to see a skilled 6-foot-9 forward who played with a high motor on both ends. The sophomore led Renaissance to the Southern Section Division 4AA title before suffering an injury prior to the state playoffs.
F Wynton Brown Wynton Brown 6'7" | PF St. John Bosco | 2020 State CA-S , St. John Bosco – If we were to do a post-season stock raisers piece, Brown would be one of the first names we typed. The 6-foot-8 senior averaged 10 points and eight rebounds for the Open Division qualifying Braves all while taking his all-around game to another level. Brown went from a slasher and finisher to a guy who can also step out and hit an open three-point shot.
F Tyree Campbell Tyree Campbell 6'5" | CG Etiwanda | 2020 State CA-S , Etiwanda
Like his teammate Mashack, Campbell doesn’t make his impact as the highest scorer in a particular game or a guy who puts up eye-popping rebounding numbers, but his selfless team-first attitude helped the Eagles to one the program’s best seasons. Campbell moved from the starting lineup to a sixth-man role when

became eligible and continued to provide a versatile defensive presence and a clutch shot-making ability down the stretch.
C Fidelis Okereke Fidelis Okereke 6'6" | C King/Drew | 2020 State CA-S , King/Drew – Okereke keyed the upstart King/Drew squad that reached the semifinals of the City Section Open Division playoffs. The 6-foot-6 senior was one of SoCal’s top shot blockers and rim protectors as his length, quickness off the floor and impeccable timing and anticipation made it difficult for drivers to get a clean look at the rim. Okereke’s intangibles and physical approach to the game will allot him plenty of college options.
