Now, let’s take a look at the top players from 4A Sectionals.
Khristian Lander Khristian Lander 6'2" | PG Evansville Reitz | 2021 IN – Evansville Reitz – 2020
Lander was absolutely dominant throughout Sectional 16 this past week. He led Reitz to two wins over Evansville Harrison and Castle with great performances. The Indiana University commit averaged 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in these two games. He also added a 32 point performance in their semifinal victory. He led Reitz to their first Sectional title since 2016. He can play at this level this weekend, he and the rest of the Reitz team will be able to make a run at a potential Regional title.
Sincere McMahon Sincere McMahon 6'0" | SG Crispus Attucks | 2020 State IN – Indianapolis Crispus Attucks – 2020
McMahon was no doubt the best player in the best Sectional in the state this past week. He started on Wednesday night in one of the most anticipated nights of Sectional basketball in recent memory with a 28 point performance in Crispus Attuck’s come-from-behind victory over Indianapolis Cathedral. Then, on Friday night, he came back and led Crispus Attucks with 32 points in their narrow loss to eventual Sectional champions, Lawrence North. McMahon recently de-committed from Western Illinois following a coaching change. Whichever college ends up with McMahon will get one of the best scorers in the state to wrap up their 2020 recruiting class.
Nick Anderson Nick Anderson 6'2" | SG Lake Central | 2020 State IN – Lake Central – 2020
Lake Central fell by three in the Sectional finals to upset-minded Merrillville, but it was not at all because of the play by Nick Anderson Nick Anderson 6'2" | SG Lake Central | 2020 State IN . Anderson showed why he is one of the top scorers in the north half of the state as he put up three 20 point performances on the week. Anderson led the Indians to a narrow 6 point win over Gary West. Then, they ran the hosts, East Chicago Central, out of the building before falling to Merrillville in the Sectional finals. Anderson will need to beef up at the college level, but he has serious potential and has shown that he can consistently put the ball in the bucket.
Luke Goode Luke Goode 6'6" | SF Homestead | 2021 State #107 Nation IN – Homestead – 2021
Luke Goode Luke Goode 6'6" | SF Homestead | 2021 State #107 Nation IN is a top-five player in the state of Indiana for the 2021 class, and he showed it this weekend. Goode averaged 19 points and 6 rebounds in Homestead’s three Sectional games. Goode put up a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in their first game, a win over Fort Wayne Wayne. In the Semifinals, Goode had a 30 point performance to almost single-handedly beat Fort Wayne South. Finally, New Haven was able to shut down Goode in the Sectional finals, but he still led Homestead with 13 points on the night. Goode will be a highly-touted recruit for the 2021 class and will be a great addition onto whatever high-major team he signs with next season.
Dawson Eastes Dawson Eastes 6'5" | PF New Palestine | 2020 State IN – New Palestine – 2020
Dawson Eastes Dawson Eastes 6'5" | PF New Palestine | 2020 State IN may not be one of the top players in the state, but he may be one of the hardest-workers across the state of Indiana. Eastes had an outstanding 15 point and 22 rebound performance in the Sectional semifinals, a 19 point win over Mt. Vernon (Fortville). This performance earned him the nickname, Domas, after Indiana Pacers forward, Domantas Sabonis. Eastes will be attending Hanover College next season, and he should be in a for a great career at the D3 level. He is going to need a great performance to beat #1 Lawrence North, but his performance was outstanding in the past week.
