If you follow along with me each week normally you will see that I do a “Tuesday Daily Dive” and since this past Tuesday was filled with mostly the start of Girls Sectional, I have decided to do a “Thursday Daily Dive” instead. Let us dive on in and take a look at some highlights of Thursday’s night of hoops.
Lawrence Central beats North Central
In a battle between two of 4A’s top teams, Lawrence Central was able to beat North Central, 71-69. Nijel Pack was the leading scorer for his squad as he finished with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Leland Walker (North) was the overall leading scorer as he finished with 29 points (18 of them came in the 4Q). This was a big win for Lawrence and with that win they are currently 17-2 this season.
Barnhizer with another double-double
Senior SG Braxton Barnhizer continues to have a monster final year. He finished lasts night’s game against McCutcheon with yet another double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. His team, Lafayette Jeff, was able to defeat McCutcheon 72-68. Drayvn Gibbs-Lawhorn of McCutcheon finished with 28 points.
Townsend has career night
North Daviess senior Jack Townsend had a night he will never forget. In last night’s win against Bloomfield, Townsend joined the 1000 point club and broke the school record in made 3’s as he hit the 114 mark. Townsend and Daviess are currently 11-7 right now in the record books. They will face Northeast Dubois on Feb 11th.
