Continue ReadingWith the season winding down, it’s always a great time to look to the future. No word is more used in basketball culture than potential. These teams while already have terrific 2019-20 season, also have the potential to have great seasons next year as they got contributions from some of the most talented players in the class of 2021. In this article, PH takes a look at some of the top Junior led teams.
Bishop Gorman
- 4 Players in the top 51
- 3 Players in the top 10
The defending champs won’t have to reload to much next season. They are led by 3 of the top 10 Juniors in the state. With with wing shooter Jonathan Braggs, UCLA commit Will McClendon and all world PG Zaon Collins, they will be ready to make another state title run next season.
Desert Pines
- 5 Players in the top 38
- 2 Players in the top 10
DP will be returning the core of their two-time defending conference championship team. Anthony Swift and Dayshawn Wiley are top 10 talents. Chancelor Johnson who was ineligible this season due to transfer rules will also return. Defensive stopper Semaj Threats, and sharpshooting guard Cimarron Conriquez round out the junior returners for this team.
Faith Lutheran
- 4 Players in the top 42
- 1 Player in the top 10
The Crusaders may lose their coach, however they will be returning an experienced and talented squad next season. It includes do-everything guard Azavier Johnson, sharpshooting stretch four Coleman Lemke, and defensive aces Jackson Williams and Max Heinz.
Galena
- 4 Players in the top 50
The Grizzles will be poised for another terrific season next year. They have 4 contributors all considered among the top 50 players in the state. Their roster will include the return of playmaker Issac Wood, scoring machine Jackson Terry, defensive ace Isaiah Duve and run and jump athlete Porter Rasmussen
Durango
- 3 Players in the top 43
- 1 Player in the top 10
In just one season coach Chad Beeten has created an amazing culture and is building a quality program. He will be helped next year by the return of UNLV commit Keshon Gilbert, as well as low post defenders Tyson Guild and Jacob Howard.
