Eastern Guilford Junior Guard Kadyn Dawkins continues to play at a high level! Dawkins has been on a tear in the state playoffs and led his team with 40 Points to advance. Dawkins may not have the most height but he can flat out score the ball against any level of competition.
Could we see A Farmville vs Kinston Part II ? If both teams win in their next matchup they will meet once again in a game that could truly be a classic. The teams matched up on MLK Day at Kinston with Farmville Central getting the win in that matchup.
Westover HS continues to dominate the competition. They are one of the few teams in the state that remains undefeated and they don’t look to be slowing down any time soon. The combination of Seniors Traymond Willis-Shaw & Isaiah Bridges to go along with Junior Guards D’Marco Dunn and Darius Jewell have been a problem for opponents all season long.
Northwest Guilford Senior Forward Dean Reiber put together a nice performance with 29 Points to help lead his team to a win. He’s headed to Rutgers next year and has shown plenty of the tools that colleges will love.
Grimsley HS Senior Forward Ahmil Flowers went for 28 Points in an overtime win. Flowers has already made the decision to attend High Point University and he’s showing In the state playoffs why the coaching staff at HPU should be excited about his arrival.
Lumberton HS Senior Guard Jordan Mcneill continues to prove himself with outstanding play and the Pirates continues to roll. McNeill went for 27 Points against Apex Friendship which sets them up with the #1 seed Garner HS.
Cape Fear HS was not a team that many thought would make a deep playoff run. However the team has put together some good games and are a game away from the Regional Semis. They have a nice mixture of younger and older talent which has come up big for them.
