Eastern Kansas League (EKL)
Bishop Miege, Blue Valley, Blue Valley North, Blue Valley Northwest, Blue Valley Southwest, Blue Valley West, Mill Valley, St. James, St. Thomas Aquinas.
Shawn Hendershot, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Blue Valley North
Hendershot has the ability to give his team whatever they’re looking for on both ends of the floor. A hard-working player for Blue Valley North who can knock down open shots and handle the ball and create a little. Hendershot brings good size at 6’4 and is great at switching out on opponents playing physical around the paint and on the perimeter. He has strong athleticism and looks to create opportunities for himself and put himself in a position to get touches and open shots. He can play inside and out. He’s physical, aggressive and has good mobility and vertical speed.
Markell Hood, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Blue Valley Northwest
Hood is an elite guard with a strong frame and the athleticism needed to make plays across the floor. he easily passes the eye test and has the range to knock down 3-point shots several feet beyond the line and can body up opponents and dunk over them in half court and full court situations. he plays in the post as a defender but has the Speed and agility to stay loosen active on the perimeter if he needs to. Hood can be found blocking shots around the glass and then kicking off their fast break. He has underrated vision and is a terrific passer, both in transition and through the offense.
Austin Murrow, 6’5, F, 2020, Blue Valley Southwest
He has good speed in open court and can use his frame to feel for an opening before he looks to score. Murrow handles the ball well for a forward and can also be counted on to pop out to the corner or wing spot as he shows some range. He has a solid game overall in his inside and outside play and activity on the high post makes opposing teams have to play some mobile wing player on him.
Christain Ryckman, 6’6, G/F, 2020, Blue Valley Southwest
A combination player who has terrific size, length and speed on the open floor. He’s listed at 6’6 and is scrappy and can force turnovers and has the speed to separate from defenders and score uncontested open looks on the opposite side. He has a nice one-handed hook shot style floater. Ryckman also extends the floor with his three-point range as yet another Southwest player who can find his shot and start making buckets consistently.
Braeden Wiltse, 6’3, G/F, 2020, Mill Valley
A physical scoring guard who can operate as a wing. Wiltse has a good feel for perimeter play and can also make plays around the rim. He has good speed and handles and can zip in-and-out of coverage and score well in transition. He has good athleticism and brings leadership and is active on both ends of the floor. Wiltse has committed to play at Concordia in Nebraska after a strong summer running with MoKan 2020.
