In the semifinals of the PSL tournament, Cass Tech defeated CMA by a score of 53-44 and Detroit Frederick Douglass took down Detroit King by a margin of 76-46. In the championship game, Cass Tech defeated Frederick Douglass, 76-46. We will name a Player Of The Year, as well as look at some Honorable Mentions.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Tyson Acuff Tyson Acuff 6'4" | PG Cass Tech | 2020 State MI (2020, PG, Detroit Cass Tech)
Acuff ended a memorable PSL career with yet another title. He may go down as one of the most successful PSL players ever, and will certainly be talked about for years to come. Acuff’s performance in the tournament has put him square in the race for the 2029 Mr. Basketball. The Duquesne commit has the look of a high level floor general at the next level.

Pierre Brooks Pierre Brooks 6'5" | SG Detroit Douglass | 2021 State #76 Nation MI Jr. (2021, G/F, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Brooks Jr. is as smart and as steady as they come. He’s a natural leader and a 3 level scorer.
Kyle Legreair Kyle Legreair 6'0" | CG Cass Tech | 2020 State MI (2020, CG, Detroit Cass Tech)
Legreair has been underrated for far too long. He’s a versatile guard with next level talent.
Zavion McClendon Zavion McClendon 6'4" | CG Detroit Frederick Douglass | 2020 State MI (2020, CG. Detroit Frederick Douglass)
McClendon should be getting looks from college coaches. His versatility and defensive skills are a big asset for any team.
Donivan Peoples Donivan Peoples 6'4" | CG Detroit Frederick Douglass | 2020 State MI (2020, CG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Peoples is another versatile perimeter player for Frederick Douglass. He has a nice jumper with a quick release.
Damon Terrell (2021, F, Detroit CMA)
Terrell certainly showed his worth in the tournament. He’s an elite athlete in the open floor and a nasty finisher above the rim.
Chansey Willis Chansey Willis 6'2" | PG Detroit King | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, Detroit King)
Willis is one of the top young point guards in Michigan. his game is mature beyond his years.
Omar Ziegler Omar Ziegler 6'5" | CG Detroit King | 2021 State MI (2021, CG, Detroit King)
Ziegler is a strong defender and can score from multiple levels.
