Recruiting Report: Jordan Radford (2020)
Jordan Radford, a class of 2020 guard from Battlefield, is one of the more exciting players to watch in Northern Virginia. Part of what makes him exciting is his athleticism. Radford is more than just an athlete, however. One of the things he prides himself on is his work ethic.
“I’m energetic, I love playing defense, and I like to talk on defense,” Radford told Prep Hoops during a recent interview. “I love being active. I love getting my teammates going. Just being all over the place. I like being a pest, like Patrick Beverly, but not as annoying.”
Along with the intensity he brings on the defensive end, Radford prides himself on finishing every play. He is relentless in his pursuit of 50/50’s and will never hesitate to put his body on the line to secure an extra possession for his team. Recently, Radford has showcased impressive touch from behind the arc. His form looks good and he shoots the ball with confidence. This is something Radford has worked to develop over time.
“Coming into school at Battlefield, I was just athletic really,” he explained. “I couldn’t dribble, I couldn’t’ really shoot. But over the summers I’ve been working on my game, working on my handle, my shot.”
Radford is continuing to work on shot and tighten his handle. Listed at 6’0″, he understands that if he plays at the next level, he will need to be comfortable handling the ball and consistently making shots. Hood College, Roanoke College, and Randolph-Macon College are three schools who he says are currently standing out in his recruitment.
What is he looking for in a school?
“I’m looking for a family environment. A place that suits me. When I go there I’m looking for that teamwork, not that selfish stuff. I’m looking for everyone to have each other’s backs and that good team environment.”
