Bedford North Lawrence: vs Evansville Reitz 1/10/20
Brayton Bailey Brayton Bailey 6'1" | SG Bedford North Lawrence | 2020 State IN – 2020 PG/SG: Bailey had a tough task with his matchup against Lander, but he did really well. He had 22 points and of course most of them came from driving and penetrating to the basket. Had a couple And1s and showed off a rare 3-point splash. No question Bailey can score, just would like to see his jumpers connect a little bit more.
Ben Cosner – 6’3 2021 W/F: Compared to how Cosner started off the season, he has had a complete turnaround almost. His confidence looks to be high and he seems to always be ready to shoot the ball. On Friday’s game he had nice pullup jumper, rebound that turned into a layup, and a catch-and-shoot 3. He finished with 7 points.
Kooper Staley – 6’0 2021 SG: This was one of Staley’s best performances so far this season. He had a couple of steals and jumpfake from the top that led to him driving for a layup. He also showed off his sharpshooting ability with two catch-and-shoot 3s. He moved a lot better and seemed to be more active in the offense and that allowed him to have 10 points on the night.
Jackson Miracle – 6’4 2021 PF: Miracle was rather quiet on the offense past Friday. He only had 2 points but did some nice things on the defense like a block and a couple rebounds. I advise Miracle to work on his finishing because he is going to be an important post focus for the Stars moving forward. Miracle is bound to get better.
Evansville Reitz: vs Bedford North Lawrence 1/10/20
Mar’Quan Givens Mar’Quan Givens 5'11" | PG Evansville Reitz | 2020 State IN – 5’11 2020 PG: Givens is a stout point guard that does a good job in playing his role in the offense. Doesn’t force too much and scores when he needs too. His catch-and-shoot 3 helped contribute to his 6 points on the night. Solid PG Givens is.
Khristian Lander Khristian Lander 6'2" | PG Evansville Reitz | 2021 IN – 6’2 2021 PG: Lander had himself a game on Friday. Finished with 25 points and most of them came from the five 3’s he banged in. His rebound tip-in and lob finished also contributed to his high scoring night as well. For being such an elite player, Lander is so unselfish with the ball and looks to always get his teammates involved. There is a reason he is so highly recruited.
Owen Dease Owen Dease 6'7" | SF Evansville Reitz | 2021 State IN – 6’6 2021 SF: Dease has been money as of late in the past two games I have seen him play. On Friday he had four catch-and-shoot 3s that came from deep. He had a long rebound and block as well. His best play of the night was his euro step in transition that lead to 2 points. Dease is continuing to have a great junior year. He finished with 15 points.
Ethan Higgs Ethan Higgs 6'4" | SG Evansville Reitz | 2021 State IN – 6’3 2021 SG: Higgs is the type of player that does the dirty work for his team. He grabs boards and steals and can score when he needs to. Didn’t score too much on Friday but ended up with 6 points with one of his buckets being a nice mid-ranger jumper. Every team needs a player like Higgs on their team because he does all the little things very well.
