Warren Central improves to 8-0
The Warriors improved to 8 wins and 0 losses on the season with a narrow win over Bedford North Lawrence 52-49. Arguably the hottest team in 4A right now, Warren Central is playing excellent ball. Heading into this season with new head coach Garrett Winegar, nobody thought they would be undefeated at this point in the season. In tonight’s win Malik Stanley had 16 points, Sean Black had 9 points, and Elijah Ray had 9 as well. Up next will be the Warriors biggest test this season as they take on Lawrence North.
Tayshawn Comer’s 29 points helps Cathedral beat Avon in a shootout
Tonight saw an unbelievable game as Cathedral beat Avon 91-88. This game was a shootout all the way through and was just one more bounce away from going into overtime. Cathedral’s Tayshawn Comer was without a doubt the MVP of the game as he dropped 29 points while his teammate Grant Taueg had 20 points. Avon’s Chrishon McCray and Gabe McNary each had 23 points while Jayden Brewer had 22 points. These prospects came to ball tonight.
Jackson Hiester has 29 points for Meter Dei
Meter Dei defeated Evansville North 70-60 to improve to 7-1 in the season. While that is great, the story of the tonight was how Dei’s Jackson Hiester dropped 29 points and is currently leading the team in scoring this year. Hiester has a great supporting cast and tonight they showed it as his teammate Evan Herr had 11 points and Alex Money had 4 blocks. North’s Chandler Moore also had 17 points as well tonight.
