1. Millbrook Wildcats (8-0)
Last Rank: 1st (↔)
The Wildcats have won three games in a row in Cap 7 action as the season continues to roll along. Eric van der Heijden is a name to keep an eye on alongside Will Felton. van der Heijden received offers from Boston College and UNC-Wilmington this past week while Felton received one from UNC-Wilmington. They’ve got Leesville Road this Friday in a rematch on the road. They won the first meeting 84-76 back on Dec. 17 at home.
2. Leesville Road (6-1)
Last Rank: 2nd (↔)
The Pride have played just one game since the last edition of power rankings were released. They got a 72-70 victory over Sanderson to keep things on a positive note with a rematch looming against Millbrook this Friday. Carter Whitt and company are 6-1 at home this season and have won three games in a row heading into their meeting with Millbrook.
3. Sanderson Spartans (4-4)
Last Rank: 3rd (↔)
The Spartans have gone 1-2 since the second edition of power rankings were released. They fell to Southeast Raleigh and Leesville Road while getting a victory over Enloe on the Road on Jan. 17. They’re still getting quality production from Tylan Green and Kamon Green. They’ve got a good one coming up against Cardinal Gibbons this Friday.
4. Enloe Eagles (3-5)
Last Rank: 5th (↑1)
The Enloe Eagles find themselves up another spot in the third edition of power rankings since going 1-2 in Cap 7 play. They were shell-shocked against the Wildcats in their last game but they’ll have a chance to bounce back against Broughton on Friday.
5. Southeast Raleigh (2-5)
Last Rank: 6th (↑1)
The Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs are quietly putting things together. They’re 2-1 across their last three Cap 7 contests with wins over Broughton and Sanderson. The Bulldogs are a group that’s learning how to play together. They’ll host Broughton this Tuesday in their home-away conference series.
6. Cardinal Gibbons (2-5)
Last Rank: 4th (↓2)
The Crusaders are 0-2 in since the last Cap 7 Power Rankings were released. 2023 guard Micah Jones has emerged as their latest weapon on offense. He’s averaging 11.1 points per game on the season as they look to improve their stock. They’ll look to get back to their winning ways on Friday when they host Sanderson.
7. Broughton Capitals (0-6)
Last Rank: 7th (↔)
The Broughton Capitals remain winless on the season in Cap 7 action with two losses in a row since the last edition of power rankings. Sophomore Julien King and freshman Will Otto are doing their best but their youth and inexperience continue to hinder their overall result. They’ll look to get their first win in Cap 7 play on Tuesday when they travel to Southeast Raleigh.
