Teams are competitive in the state and they play great games every time they step on the floor. One thing for sure is that they have in the gym range from the opening tip. There are great shooters in the conference and that will not change this season. Here are some sharp shooters to keep an eye on as the season gets underway.
Jake Silva (2020) | 6’0 PG | Gloucester Tech
Gloucester Tech suffered a poor season in 2018. they are a young team that is expecting big things in the future. Silva is one of those bright spots. He may be the best shooter in the conference heading into the season. Silva brokeout as a sophomore knocking down 65 three-pointers during the season. He followed that up with another strong junior campaign with 44 made three’s. As a senior, he could be in for his best shooting season of his high school career.
Trey Simmons (2022) | 5’11 SG | Delsea
Delsea was one of the top teams in the conference last season. They won 18 games and were a perfect 8-0 in the Tri-County Conference. How could you not be successful with talented young players like Simmons? As a freshman, Simmons made an immediate impact to the team and he will continue to be a big time player over his next three seasons at Delsea. He is a true guard with a smooth stroke that can lead his team to a win if he gets hot.
Gage Ausland (2020) | 6’0 SG | Salem
There is talent spread out through all grades in the Tri-County Conference. When looking at the top players overall, it has to begin with Ausland. He is a pure scorer who will return as Salem’s No. 1 option on the court. He can score in the lane but he does his best work from deep. Opposing defenses will have a hard time game planning for Ausland, even though he will be one of the main focuses. It is easier said than done.
Keon Sabb (2022) | 6’3 PG | Glassboro
Sabb is a force. He might be the best overall athlete in the conference and one of the best to play at Glassboro. He is just a sophomore and already has the size and skill to be an all-time great. As a freshman, Sabb excelled on the court and the football field. He scored 523 points in his first season which puts him on pace to join the 1,000 point club either late in his sophomore season or early as a junior. Glassboro will lean on Sabb and he will be a must watch player in multiple sports over the next three years.
