6’6 Caleb Koski (Intermountain Christian)
Most likely the best prospect in all of 1A. Caleb is a shooting guard that has a big body. He has good moves to the basket and finishes well around the rim. He has good range. He needs to continue to move well without the basketball and find different ways to score.
6’0 Geret Reintmeister (Ben Lomond)
Geret has improved in many ways as he has made the move to more of a ball handler. Geret is taking quality shots and getting his teammates involved. He does a better job of getting to the basket. Geret has a good shot and has range.
6’5 Robert Whaley (Bountiful)
Big Rob was a handful in his opening day of the shootout. He scored 21 points all within 5 feet from the basket. His brute strength and force overpowered every defender that was thrown at him. Robert has great court vision as he finds cutters and open shooters often as the defense adjust to him. Interesting prospect.
6’0 G Zach Engelbright (Summit Academy)
Zach had a great game and he showcased his versitility to get to the basket and shoot the long ball. His coach has helped him improve his shot selection and IQ as he leads his team. He was able to upset a good and young Kearns team.
6’3 Michael Kleakas (Elko, NV)
The most impressive player of the day. This kid is an absolute dog. He does it all. He scores inside with an array of moves. He rebounds the ball and pushes with smooth tempo. Michael is averaging 30 points a game. He put up 34 points and only missed 5 shots.
6’1 Ren Fonnesbeck (Bear River)
Ren had a breakout game. With multiple threats on the team Ren was able to light up a scrappy Elko tean as he hit 4 three-pointers and had 20 points.
6’2 Gabe Soto (Juan Diego)
Gabe has a mature game. He knows how to get to his spots. He takes care of the ball and plays defense. He could be a solid pick up for a D2 JUCO.
6’5 Johnny Gasolaga (Kearns)
While Kearns has a young team made up of a lot of freshman and sophomores Johnny is one of those young players that is benefiting from his large amount of playing time. He has a lot of potential.
