1. Bishop Gorman: 1-0 Last Week 1-0 – The champs got off to a good start as they cruised to an easy victory over Santa Margarita out of California. The Gales play Sierra Vista and Spring Valley this week before heading out to California to take on San Gabriel Academy.
2. Coronado: 2-0 – Last Week 2-0 – Coronado got two victories this weekend down in Arizona. They take on Corona Centennial this weekend in the So Cal/LV Showdown.
3. Arbor View: 1-0 – Last Week 1-0 – Arbor View only got one victory this week, however, it was the game of the year so far as they outlasted Liberty in Overtime. UNLV recruit Donavan Yap fueled a furious rally, helping the Aggies overcome a 19 point fourth quarter deficit. Arbor View host Legacy, then travel to Palo Verde and Bonanza this week.
4. Liberty: 1-1 – Last Week 1-1 – The Patriots rebounded from a heartbreaking loss with victories over Democracy Prep and Apollo out of Arizona. Future Zags recruit Julian Strawther set a new Hoophall scoring record with 51 points against Apollo. Liberty travels to Faith Lutheran, before heading to Pasadena for what should be the game of the week in the nation as they take the #1 recruit Evan Mobley and Rancho Christian in the So Cal/LV Showdown.
5. Durango: 3-0 – Last Week 3-0 – If you follow Prep Hoops Nevada, then you know I have been high on Durango since this Fall. The Trailblazers have not disappointed as they have been impressive in their 3 victories so far. Led by the backcourt of Anthony Hunter, and Keshon Gilbert, the Trailblazers have dominated in three victories. This week they will be tested as they host Clark, and then travel to Pasadena to face Harvard – Westlake in the So Cal/LV Showdown.
6. Desert Pines: 0-0 – Last Week DNP
7. McQueen: 4-0 – Last Week 4-0 – Off to an impressive start is McQueen. Kareem Rowe has probably had the best start to the season of any player not named Julian Strawther as he is averaging 32 and 14 on the year. The Lancers defeated Carson and capped the week with a win over the host team in the Quincy Tournament.
8. Bishop Manogue: 0-0 Last Week DNP
9. Silverado: 3-1 – Last Week 3-1 – The Skyhawks lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer in the semifinals of the Legacy Tip-Off Classic. Overall they are still off to a solid start led by the play of Londan Coleman and Martell Williams. Silverado host Spring Valley before traveling to Desert Oasis this week.
10. Foothill: 2-1 – Last Week 2-1 – The Falcons looked impressive in their two victories before falling to Santa Margarita at home. Led by Demitri Clair and Travis Thomas, Foothill goes 10 deep and is one of the best shooting teams in the state. The Falcons host Canyon Springs and Cimarron this week, before heading up North to face #7 McQueen.
