Eastern’s James Jewell and Christian Spalding – Two of the top Sophomores in the state, Jewell and Spalding are combining for 27 points and 10 rebounds per game. Both have tremendous upside and will really be tested against a good McCracken County squad on Friday.
McCracken County’s Jackson Sivills and Noah Dumas – A TOUGH backcourt duo, they almost pulled out wins over Male and Madisonville last week. Sivills may be the most valuable player to his team in the event and Dumas is the engine that makes them go on offense. Their game against Eastern should be a fun one.
George Rogers Clark’s Lincoln Bush and Jared Wellman – Bush holds multiple D2/NAIA offers and Wellman will be a college player after he finishes high school. Look for West Jessamine to struggle with Bush’s length while Wellman is an efficient scorer for the Cardinals.
West Jessamine’s DeAjuan Stepp and Nate Breeden – Stepp plays every position on the floor while Breeden does a lot of the dirty work for the Colts. Breeden is averaging 11.5 points and 5 rebounds for Coach Kelley’s team while Stepp is one of the top scorers in Central Ky at 20.2 points per game.
Lincoln County’s Riley Bodner and Jaxon Smith – Bodner is a difference maker inside for the Patriots as he affects a lot of shots and should be a problem for a small Muhlenberg team to matchup against. Smith is a tough point guard who is always looking to score.
Muhlenberg County’s Nash Divine and Trey Lovell – Divine can play on or off the ball and is the primary scoring option for the Mustangs as he is putting up 12.5 shots per game. Lovell is the primary ball handler and will be up against Jaxon Smith most of the game. Should be an interesting matchup Friday night.
Lloyd Memorial’s Treshawn Cody and Tyrese Davis – Cody is an athletic wing forward having a huge season, averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds per game. Davis is a solid second fiddle for the team, averaging 7.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The Juggernauts open play against the home standing LCA Eagles on Friday.
LCA’s Tanner Walton and Zeke Grier – Walton is quietly having an outstanding Sophomore season, averaging 25 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Eagles. Grier is the Senior leader for the squad, averaging 13 points per game and is a much better shooter than his 33% from three so far this season indicates. If he gets hot, look out!
