PREVIEW: Big Six Gold Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at the upcoming season in Kansas City’s Big Six Gold. Big Six Gold Blue Springs (7-19, 3-7), Blue Springs South (18-9, 6-3), Lee’s Summit North (27-4, 9-0), Lee’s Summit West (7-16, 2-8), Park Hill (14-12, 4-5), Raymore-Peculiar (13-14, 4-6). Cade Berg, 6’6, G/F, 2020, Blue Springs South An athletic wing player who has the size and skill you love for his position. A smart forward who brings a lot of energy and hustle to the floor and can score off the glass and around the paint well. He has good speed and solid length and shows good potential in the in-and-out game. Nykohlas Bryant, 6’1, 2021, Park Hill, KC Premiere Blue Chips 16U Bryant is an athletic player who can play off the ball well. He is good at moving away from plays and is fast in half court settings as well as the transition game. He can make good passes and scores well inside and out. Bryant contributes in a variety of ways. Colby Baggett, 6’3, G, 2021, Lee’s Summit West, Team Yobo Baggett is coming off a big sophomore season at Lee’s Summit West and is expected to continue his trend of versatile play. He is a slender player who can play either guard spot and occasionally operate as a slashing wing as he can get to the basket and get off tough shots off the glass. He is good at defending the perimeter and can come away with the ball and block shots and really force opponents to play overwhelmed. Khayden Hooks, 5’11, G, 2020, Blue Springs South An underrated point guard with nice quickness and good leadership. He works hard on defense and has a good touch and can step outside and connect from a distance. He competes on both sides of the ball and can handle it some and get around traps and problem areas of the floor. Kian Scroggins, 6’6, F, 2020, Raymore-Peculiar The recent Sam Houston State commit brings a good combination of old school play and physicality. He is good in a one-on-one situation on the block and score score facing up and with his back to the basket. He has good vision and is a willing passer and a knock down shooter from the mid-range area. Scroggins has terrific size with a strong frame, good athleticism and a versatile, well-rounded skill set that allows him to play a unique inside-out game.
