Here, we are taking a look at the Preseason All-County Team for Pickaway. Who to watch for!
First Team:
Isaac Ward (2021 | 5-9 PG | Logan Elm
Ward has scored it well at the high school level since reaching it. The best shooter in the county that finds different ways to create side and let it fly. Undersized, but matches up with the best of them that he will face. Tough player that loves to compete. The junior could be up closer to 20 points per game this season, if he’s able to get to the hoop a bit more.
Riley Gibson (2021) | 6-0 PG | Circleville
Circleville may improve a little from last years team, even if it’s not a whole lot, they still have one of the better players. Gibson is a 2021 point guard that can really go. Can work well without the ball getting his own bucket, also has the ability to work off of it and get open. Gibson has gotten stronger, allowing him to finish inside with more poise. This winter expect the lead guard to once again put up big numbers.
Riely Weiss (2020) | 6-0 G | Teays Valley
Weiss figures to be in contention for conference player of the year in the MSL, for good reason, he can flat out play. Weiss is one of Teays Valley’s returning leaders and could get even more shots per game this season. A prospect that can really fill it up at times, and undoubtedly will this winter.
Gabe Chalfin (2021) | 6-0 G | Logan Elm
It isn’t often that the junior will play a game where he isn’t the most athletic player on the court. A versatile defender with how physical he plays all the time. Multi-dimensional scorer that can get it done in multiple areas. Off the bounce to the rim, in the midrange and behind the arc.
Clayton Knox (2020) | 6-3 SG | Teays Valley
Knox has really solid scoring ability. Knockdown shooter that also uses his athletic ability to get by defenders off of the bounce. Finishes at the rim at a good clip. Look for him to average around 15 points a night.
Watch Out For:
Camden Primmer – Teays Valley
Jay Wyman – Westfall
Tyler Cavanaugh – New Hope
