2020 James Reid, Forward, Davie County
James Reid showed off his ability to score on the block and from the perimeter in Week 3. He put up 14 points for his squad and got them buckets when they needed with his ability to create space and score down the stretch. He’s got nice size at 6-foot-5 and battles on the glass as well.
2023 Iverson King, Point Guard, Davie County
Iverson King is only a rising freshman but given his size at about 6-foot-4 and his skill set, he’s well ahead of the curve. He showed off his ability as a floor general and showed a nice variety of moves off the dribble to get to the paint and finish.
2020 Brooks Johnson, Guard, Davie County
Brooks Johnson is a 6-foot-3 combo guard that’s a vocal leader as well as a lead by example type. He scored 13 points for his squad, showing off his 3-point shot as well as his ability to finish inside the arc. When things got close in the game, he took the reins for his team and kept them composed.
2020 Zach Shumate, Forward, Salem Baptist Christian
Zach Shumate was a burden to bear in the post in Week 3. He’s a big forward at 6-foot-7 and 215 pounds with nice footwork and a strong post game that he showcased through putting up 13 points and five rebounds despite playing roughly 20 out of 40 minutes of basketball.
2021 Shad Thomas, Forward, Salem Baptist Christian
Shad Thomas is a new addition to Salem Baptist Christian and a native of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He’s adjusting quite well to his new setting with his ability to defend the basketball and play above the rim. He opened his second game of Week 3 by scoring his team’s first eight points. He’ll be one to keep an eye on in the 2021 class.
2021 Jay Mitchell, Wing, Forsyth Country Day
Jay Mitchell kept the crowd on their feet in the final game of Week 3 with his ability to fly above the rim and dunk the basketball with authority. The rest of his game is still coming along but he’s a prospect that makes an impact when he’s on the floor.
2021 Chance Carter, Forsyth Country Day
Chance Carter showed off as well in the final game alongside Jay Mitchell. Carter is a combo guard that put up 20 points in his team’s victory over the Raiders in Week 3. He scored in a variety of ways on all three levels, making three 3-pointers and getting to the free-throw line. He’s another member of this class to keep an eye on, especially for his ability to pressure the ball on defense.
