SubscribePreseason Player of the Year: 2020 Zach Huff, Don Bosco
Far and away the most talented player in this division, Huff is a gifted scoring guard with the ability to get scorching hot and score at will from all three levels. He’s also a great passer who reads the floor well and understands when he needs to facilitate, and when he needs to take over a game and score. With Jack Kelley graduated, Huff will have the ball in his hands a ton, and should be a monster this year for the Dons.
First Team
2020 Zach Huff, Don Bosco (15.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, 57 3PM, 42.5 3P%)
The most talented player in the division, Huff also has a chance to become a 25+ point a game scorer with the graduation of Jack Kelley. He’s capable of dominating games either scoring or facilitating, and should be one of 1A’s best players this year.
2020 John Zwack, Waterloo Christian (20.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals)
Waterloo Christian won just a single game last year, but a lot of talent was lost from this division, and he led the Regents in every major category.
2020 Ethan Schmidt, Clarksville (18.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.9 steals, 1.6 blocks, 66.8 FG%)
A highly efficient, 6-2 power forward, Schmidt is the league’s leading returning rebounder and the focal point for a Clarksville team that could challenge Don Bosco at the top of the league.
2020 Sullivan Fair, Riceville (11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.6 steals)
The Wildcats won just three games last season, but Fair excelled in those three wins, averaging 19.3 points a game.
2021 Conner Piehl, Tripoli (11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals)
Piehl led the Panthers in scoring and steals, while ranking second in rebounding last season.
